The attitude of the young waitress from the go was rude and dismissive. We were told to ‘sit where you want’ and when the menus were put down in front of us without so much as a here you are’ we enquired about the scones, only to be told ‘I don’t know’.
We asked again and told they were about to be made so she took our drink orders and when she came back for the food orders we were told again that she didn’t know how long they’d be, so I had to ask her to ask the chef. Was told they’ll be thirty minutes so didn’t order them, and then she leant right in to my personal space without as much as an ‘excuse me’ to get the menu from me.
Drinks and food were slammed down on to the table without announcing what they were, and when cutlery was dropped it took someone else to bring us a new set. When it came time to pay we were simply told the price with no bill or breakdown, without even a ‘your total is’ or a please. Didn’t even say thank you when we paid.
The older waitress seemed nice but was barely there. I felt like we had better customer service from the customer having her breakfast.
I’m not a fussy person and have worked in customer service for much of my life, and never once have I been so shocked at the blatant show of ‘I don’t want to be here’ from someone. The food was overpriced, though I will say the coffee was delicious.
We won’t be returning which is a shame as this is a place we came often when I lived in the area and I had very fond...
Read moreWhat a hidden gem on the outskirts of Wilmslow. I came here with my daughter for breakfast. We both had the full English. Delicious from the first bite to the last. I washed down my food with proper tea in a proper teacup. Not often you get that these days. My daughter went on to have a slice of chocolate cake. It was nice and light and also delicious. Service was prompt and polite. Great atmosphere as the place was almost full. Plenty of parking spaces outside too. We shall definitely add this venue to our list of top notch English breakfast places.
So judging time is upon us and Morley Tea Rooms is one of the 12 finalists in our search for the best Full English Breakfast in our area. Both my daughters and I sat down to overflowing plates of English Breakfast goodness. No surprise there and it is pleasing to see that their previous high standards have carried through to the Xmas period. Some tasteful Xmas decorations on display and I was particularly impressed with my Father Xmas themed tea cup. Nice touch. Well done everyone. Your scores are...
Read moreVisited this delightful tea room with my friend for the first time on Sunday 4 August. We received a warm friendly welcome and was advised to sit where we would like to. My friend chose scrambled egg on toast with an americano and I opted for a large breakfast and a latte. Both meals arrived in a timely manner, were served hot, cooked to perfection, plentifull and tasted delicious. All the staff were so friendly, helpfull, efficient and well mannered. The tea room was homely and traditional plus very clean. Emma came over for a chat and explained what home made cakes were available as we wanted to take 2 pieces home. We chose Victoria sponge and chocolate cake. Both tasted superb and so light and truly delicious. This tea room is amazing value for money and just outstanding in every way. Will definately return very soon. Many Thanks you have a business to...
