After living in the area for over 30 years,we decided to visit this pub recommened by a friend.. Very friendly landlady and it was nice to talk to her. This friend had recommended the food, so we thought we would stay for lunch. After visiting many places we thought the lunches were very bland. I had the homemade burger which needed more seasoning for taste and when presented on a large plate with just fries, it looked rather lost . I'm sure a better presentation would look more appealing, like a little side salad or something of a little garnish. My husband went for the platter of fish and chips, which looked better on the plate, but evertything was cooked from frozen and fried, not a good advert as most people are consious of the way food is served these days.||Venue looked very nice but...

Booked for dinner at the very last minute. The landlady was really friendly and welcoming, as were the locals. There was an open fire and it was nice and warm. Good selection of local beer and cider and a really good gin selection.

The food is fantastic, all homemade by the landlord. Chicken wings are fried perfectly in a great coating and the brie with chutney was equally delicious. For mains we had the boerie burger with sweet potato fries, which was unusual but extremely good, we would travel back just for that alone! The venison was meltingly tender, with lovely mustard mash.

The only problem was that afterwards we didn't have room for dessert!

I definitely recommend eating here and we will...

A lovely traditional village pub. The food was so tasty… I recommend the Fish finger burger which was light and crispy, as were the chips. The Hallloumi burger was tasty with a really nice sauce. All the food was piping hot. Great value. If we’re ever in the area again we will definitely come back!

What a lovely find. Popped in on the off chance. Busy little pub. Food was amazing, including dessert. Hostess/barlady/waitress really made our visit truly noteworthy. Highly recommended
