Went for a meal here on a Saturday evening, seemed fairly busy, and 18 of us in total. We had heard that the service was slow, so had booked early at 5pm, but also because we had 8 little kiddos that needed to be fed early and we were camping at Tresseck campsite, a 2 min walk away. But the menu had masses to offer, the service was really quite quick, and the plates a great size. I had the cider braised ham and chicken salad, and it was delicious, a great size for the price (£13) and lots of different yummy choices like stuffed peppers, homemade coleslaw and crunchy onion topping mixed in. Others in the party had burgers (very nice, quite large; a vegan option available) and the lamb (really lovely, especially with a bright and zingy orange and parsnip veloute mash thing). The hosts were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Lovely outside dining at the back, under a grapevine covered pergola area, and a pretty beer garden full of cosmos and rudbeckia flowers, with a stream at the end (beware the crocodile!!) Thank you for looking after us x

Super amazing, 👌 wow, it's great, After calling around a number of venues for Sunday dinner, we looked at the New Harp as a last resort ( sorry). we had previously heard bad things about it, and the owners so were avoiding it, but please DONT avoid it. There seems to be a completely different management team and staff from many many months ago ( show how long we have avoided it ), and they are now spot on. Very caring, welcoming and good at what they do, the food came out nice and hot, fresh and tasty the Sunday dinner definitely is one to go for five maybe 6 diffrent veg a good portion of meat too 😋 The rest of the menu looks good at reasonable prices with different theme nights, too. When we got the bill, it didn't add up, so either the drinks were expensive or who knew what, but we enjoyed the meal, so we just left . We would return.

Popped in for some food and drinks after a long walk around the area. Food was amazing in presentation and taste. Unfortunately the chef left a bad taste in our mouths after saying we were racist if we didn’t leave a review and later telling a woman in the group that she had a face made for radio, and that with beauty like that, there’s no need to come back. The first comment I can brush off as a joke but calling a young woman you’ve just met and is a paying customer ugly to her face is a step beyond edgy banter. He had otherwise seemed pretty funny up to that point, singing in the kitchen and chatting to customers. Fortunately, the young lady in question is resilient and took it in stride but it left a damper on the experience.

What a disaster. Table of 8 booked 3 weeks ago. The pub was busy and had a good atmosphere, if you ignore the rude customers! Ordered our food and drinks at the table. Drinks came within a resonable time, but the food took over an hour. Not a problem in itself as we were all chatting and entertaining ourselves. Unfortunately, it seems that some of the food had been ready for a while and sat there getting cold while the rest of it was cooked. Piri Piri chicken was stone cold, the vegetables were cool, the pies were luke warm as were the chips, but the fish and chips were piping hot! New potatoes were substituted with diced fried potatoes with no explanation or apology. These were not eaten as not liked by the customer. I returned my cold piri piri chicken and it was offered to be recooked or I could order something else but as we had already waited over an hour I wasn't prepared to wait again and then have everyone else wait for me to get my meal. No problem getting it taken off the bill, but we will not be returning. On a side note, the table next to us also waited over an hour for food, then got their mains brought out before they had received their starters!! Obvs, they were sent back and it was another 30 mins before the starters arrived. Goodness knows what time they are able to leave! I definitely would...

The worst and most arrogant service of any pub i have experienced in my lifetime. Mainly due to the two horrible old women and the large man (Adrian) who i will get into later. Bar lady aggressively exclaimed at my 8 year old boy for simply standing near the bar. During our whole experience it felt like we were not welcome at all being moved around multiple tables and having chairs taken off us while sat down. The toilets also stank horribly while being sat in the main bar area. This is probably from the horrible, arrogant and cocky large man. He claimed to have made all this food (which was horrible) but also stank while making his way out of the toilets. This alone made us question are stay at this place. Please don't ever come here even though there are no other options. I have given this place multiple chances over the years while camping nearby and it has never risen higher than THE WORST PUB I HAVE...
