Thought we’d give this place a go, just outside Deanshanger, based on a friend’s recommendation. The building itself from the outside looks nothing special, situated on a petrol station forecourt. However, the inside decor is much nicer than the outside appearance. We were greeted and taken to our table as we had already booked. It was 7.30pm on a Saturday and we were the only customers, which did set some alarm bells ringing for me. Our table was already set with a tray of dips so we ordered some poppadums and drinks. And so the dips…… my partner noticed straightaway that there was a dead housefly adrift in the mango chutney. It clearly hadn’t just flown in, it was very dead. We sent the mango chutney back, but then I found myself checking the other dips for anything that looked like an insect. It was very off putting and wish I’d just left then as I kept thinking about how that fly had got into my chutney. We ordered butter chicken, massani chicken, garlic fried rice and garlic naan for main. It arrived quite quickly and was presented well. The rice had a lovely burnt garlic flavour to it, but was unfortunately quite greasy. This, I’m afraid, was a theme that ran through all the dishes. The butter chicken (photo in this review) had the oil separating out of the dish. It made all the meals quite heavy and left a greasy coating in the mouth. My partner left most of his butter chicken. By 8.15 we’d finished and there were two other tables now seated, so still not busy. We asked for the bill … and so back to the dips….. As the dips were already uncovered and on the table we were seated at, I assumed they were complimentary. When the bill came there was a £4 charge for dips! I’ve got a few problems with this: - it should have been made clear to start with we were paying for the dips - £4 is on the high end of price for a few dips - they weren’t knocked off the bill for the dead housefly and no apology given All in all, not a great experience and it just left me wondering how their dips are stored! Won’t be back.

We went for my partners 40th with family and the service was exceptional .. food was top standard and great spice levels for my chicken balti … this place deserves a lot of praise .. we’re all friendly and offered us all complimentary drinks and gave my partner a free cobra 😁 thank you for a great night and service .. gave us full attention

Absolutely fantastic food tonight. Took a friend & we were all really impressed & nothing was left on our plates. Not enough people in tonight but it so deserves to be packed out so please come & try the new menu. You won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend.

I came in specifically for their buffet deal £14.95 . Few points i was not happy about

  1. only main dishes included, no signature or chef specials or sea food, have to pay extra
  2. Beverages are minimum £4+
  3. I specifically said tailor the menu for the buffet deal, they weren't clear that Pilau rice and Keema nan were all extra We had an embarassing situation at the till when i was handed a £21 bill, i said i paid for the buffet and then he went on to explain Pilau rice is extra and its a choice of Naan or Rice. We promptly settled on £17
  4. quality of the food. I had two tiny seekh kebabs for starters, two mouthfuls and i was done. The main was lamb served with sweet sauce, i was not impressed. I asked for a recommendation and it was not a good choice. The side was Potatoe and Aubergine. The food quality was 2.5/5 Definitely be careful with pricing if you are going for the buffet deal specifically ignore any add ons, i wouldn't pay more for this place. The food portions were ok for the main , the starter and sides very small and they may aswell not be included, you'r better off spending £8-£9 for a decent curry Elsewhere, Mezbaan in Milton Keynes do...

Do not judge this place based on the exterior

Inside is lovely and calm and clean and pleasing to dine in

We were welcomed warmly and offered seating and menus promptly

Ordered poppadoms 90p each and the chutney tray £3.50 And onion bhajis! These were amazing! The kind waited advised there were 2 for a portion and there was 3 of us ..... I said it was fine, but when he returned with them they had given us 3 which I thought was lovely and a very nice little touch!

Mains were lovely , perhaps a smidge more rice would have been good but we were unsure of portion size so did not want to over order so daughter and I shared rice and garlic naan with a main each

Our order was delish Chicken tikka masala Chicken bhuna And we tried a dish between the boy bestie and I of the chilli garlic chicken (hot) highly recommended Boy bestie had one of the chefs specials which comes with rice and it wad hot and he enjoyed it

I highly recommend a trip here for food.

They also do a banquet day on Sunday for a set price so we will return for this

Thanks for your warm service and...
