Oddfellows Arms — Restaurant in England

Attended a family funeral on the 25th January 2019. We all went back to oddfelows after for some food that was arranged. The staff and the landlord were absolutely amazing, so friendly and amazing service. In all my years in going to pubs I have never known a landlord to be so friendly and purely have the best interests of his punters. Some people like myself had a long journey back and the people that were leaving that evening he made sandwiches for them all for their journey. Then later in the evening he made sandwiches for us all that were still drinking :). The next morning me and my cousin went to collect out car that we left overnight in the car park and the landlord came out for a chat and asked if we wanted bacon sandwiches :) we had already had breakfast so had to turn the food down this time. What a beautifully, tasty Sunday lunch we had here today! It was great value too! We both had Standard size lunch and didn't manage to finish it, so the landlord, Andy, organised takeaway wrapping for us. Lovely chap, as are the rest of the staff and customers. We were made to feel very welcome, along with Marley (Shih-Poo) on our first visit. We left him at home today. It has a beautiful dog-friendly beer garden too, surrounded by shrubs and trees. This pub is basically the home of thornaby, the new landlord and landlady are both great, they make sure all customers are happy with everything. I'd definitely come here for a social night out or just a bite to eat. Karaoke and games nights. They also have a pool team.. all staff and customers are welcoming to new comers. I don't think I'd like to drink anywhere else in thornaby if I want a lively night on a weekend or just a social quiet drink through the week. food is incredible. Good food by some great chefs!
