Genuinely one of my favourite cafes in the world - that's a big call yes but rarely will you find somewhere that's not only got great food, coffee and top level service but is in such a beautiful location - reminded me a bit of New Zealand. The breakfast burrito was huge and very, very good - probably big enough for two actually (assuming you can bare to share it) and under a tenner! I think the main piece of advice I'd give someone is to come early as possible especially if you want to sit indoors because it's very popular especially on nicer days even on a weekday. However, there's plenty of outdoor seating if needed especially on sunny days might be better anyway. It's a lovely way to spend a morning going to the cafe then enjoying a walk around the reservoir afterwards.

I called in at lunchtime after walking round the lake. (Though the weather was dry there was a keen, cold wind which always seemed to be blowing into my face. The good thing about this was that it built up an appetite.) At the entrance counter, where I was given a warm, friendly welcome, there was a small blackboard offering a Sweet Potato soup. How could I resist?! The café was extremely busy. I counted 21 people eating lunch, so my soup took time to arrive, but I knew the kitchen would be heaving, so I was happy to wait. The thick soup was *really* tasty, with an interesting scatter of peanuts on top, flavoured ~ I think? ~ with Tajin, which was a new spice for me. An excellent meal, enhanced by the smiling, friendly, professional staff. Thank you!!

We were lucky to be able to book a vegan afternoon tea after a recommendation from a friend, OMG!! It was amazing!! The food was outstanding, three huge open sandwiches each, two cakes each and three little cinnamon pastries and then two gigantic scones with jam and cream!!!! It tasted incredible with unlimited tea and coffee, I had a vegan hot choc with vegan cream and marshmallows as extra, best hot choc I’ve had!! The staff were just lovely and attentive, lovely place right by the lake, we will be back with family in tow to experience the Christmas menu!! Amazing!!

Fabulous little cafe. I messaged early in the morning to book a table (and am glad we did because it was very busy!) and got a quick response - was very grateful to be accommodated at short notice on a Sunday. Despite it being really busy when we arrived, once we placed our order, it wasn't long before our food arrived. All came out at the same time, nice and warm, and delicious! Great place to go if you want somewhere that offers good options for all dietary requirements/preferences - 3 of us are vegan and 1 an omnivore, and there were great options for us all :) Coffee was also great, and there was also a nice selection of vegan cakes to choose from (and not just a brownie or chocolate cake as is quite common in a lot of places!) The only thing I would say is that, as a first time customer, it wasn't obvious to me whether it was table service or if we had to order at the counter (we waited a few minutes before ordering at the counter) - though, I could have just missed a sign/notice as it was particularly busy! The staff and the service was excellent though!...
