I recently stayed at the Premier Inn for a week on a business trip. Breakfast was included and we ate our evening meals in there. Breakfast was awful, miserable staff (with the exception of one gentleman in a striped shirt) Every time you asked for something there was a problem, no poached eggs at all. I asked for a runny fried egg but was told it comes how it comes. Half of what you ordered wasn’t sent out. The first day the bacon wasn’t cooked properly so the next morning we asked for it to be cooked a little more so they sent out inedible burnt bacon after hearing them in the kitchen laughing about it. The bread was stale - I just don’t mean slightly either! There was no coffee so we were told we would have to make do with instant (which is Nescafe creosote) the fruit with the orange in was dry and FULL of pips. Now the evening meals. The Mexican Taco dish, eating my flip flop would have quite possibly been better. The chicken was so dry I struggled to swallow it. I had the smallest amount of sour cream (less than a teaspoon) and the waitress was completely ignoring us. Again the man got me more even though he wasn’t our server. Another night we were rushed out the restaurant at 0900 because they wanted to clean the table for the next day. Our final evening we arrived at 0800 - 20 late for our booking and were told we could only order if we ordered very quickly as they were expecting a table of 5. (The restaurant was empty!) After 20 minutes of nobody taking our order but the staff all moaning about the restaurant, we got up and ordered from the bar. We were waiting to order more drinks but we were ignored, as by now the staff were so visibly not happy with something. We paid and left. You may ask why we went back, as we were working 11hr days, we just wanted to eat and sleep. Deliveroo was at least a 60+ minute wait.If I had of had a choice, trust me I wouldn’t have gone back. I wish I could say this was one incident and one member of staff but with the exception of the kind gentleman who seems to hold the restaurant up. The rest have no business being in the hospitality industry. I would rate the man a lot higher than the rest. No wonder the place is usually quite empty which makes me laugh as if you don’t book they won’t seat you. I have told my company to never book any of our staff into the Premier Inn next door as the restaurant is so bad - and trust me, this restaurant has just also lost the Premier Inn a...
Read moreQuite possibly the worst pub food I have ever had in my entire life. After we waited 10 minutes to be seated (we had booked a table) we started off with our drinks order being wrong 3 times, and that was after we had been told there was no burgers, no ribs and more, leaving very few choices. We then waited about 20 minutes for our food order to even be taken, and we had to ask for this to be done ourselves. My Coke was so syrupy it was undrinkable, I asked for ice it came with none, it also was normal Coke when I asked for Zero. I ordered the ‘smothered chicken’ which was awful - the toughest, thinnest bit of chicken I have ever eaten, burnt and like eating a leather boot. The bacon was completely burnt and was two almost laughably small pieces, and the cheese was a disappointingly small amount. The chips were not in the slightest warm on any of our plates and were bland and soft. The atmosphere was loud, surrounded by screaming kids and our tables were two inconveniently pushed together. The one positive of the place was our lovely waitress, who was completely apologetic and sorted out every problem we had quickly. I didn’t get her name but she was the one thing that made our visit not a complete disaster. Overall, definitely don’t recommend going here, it needs a lot of changes and with the amount of amazing, locally run pubs with authentic local delicious food in Cornwall, there is so many...
Read moreOn entering the premises the person that greeted us informed us straight away that they would have to see if there was a table due to COVID restriction and capacity. She then said there was a table and walked us there. But then attempted conversation and ended up being dissimive and her tone of voice was not right. Like she didn't know how to talk to customers. When we sat down and then looked at the menu virtually everything had cheese in it, on it, or with cheese sauce. It was so bad that we started to joke about it. Onion rings with cheese in. Just no. My partner ordered a burger and clearly asked for there to be no cheese in it. The table waitress said I will inform them of that. Yet is still came with cheese on! When we informed her of this when we finished our meal she did not apologise or say she would inform the kitchen staff. Instead we got "well I did tell them to do it with no cheese in". That simply isn't good enough and that is not good customer service. Would I eat here again? Never. The food presented was very basic. I've also taken the time to look at the photos people have uploaded of their food. None of it looks anything like we were served. And if I'm honest the photos are trying to make it look better than what it is. This is a very basic restraunt in my eyes and the staff lacked any customer service skills. None of us were impressed. This isn't a place I would...
