Poppins Cafe — Restaurant in England

The thing i love most about this joint is that I would probably go as far as to say that this is a beating heart of Scartho Village. So much so that when we arrived the staff even noticed that we hadn’t been in a while (no reason other than been major busy) and welcomed us back- that’s how friendly and customer-orientated and noticed that my daughter had grown a little since last time; that’s how much they care. The food reminds me of my mums cooking; so delicious and that extra “thang” to it that they don’t even know how they make it- they just make it with absolute love and joy. Whenever we go for Sunday dinner and I can’t decide what to have the lovely owner just pops all 3 meats on and will often pop her head and say “do you want me to pop some pie on aswell I have some left?”.That for me is all I need to know about a place and the gaffas who run it. This is customer service and food that you wouldn’t find at local costa or m and s cafe. I don’t even have any pictures because i’m too busy chatting away to the staff. My only quarm is stay open longer please 😂...

The food and prices are good. There is a nice play area for little ones. The staff are friendly, when you're talking to them, but trying to get hold of them can be a task. They have a bell to ring if they are in the kitchen, which is fair enough, but I felt like ringing it when they were both in the cafe. They were both chatting to other tables, not busy taking orders, just chatting and they had their backs to us too so we couldn't catch their eye. I would suggest having menus out on the tables because it took 20 mins to be given one the first time we went. There was only us and one other table in, so not...

If I could leave a negative review I would, worst cafe I've ever visited! Bite sized portions and massively over priced. Ordered a bacon and mushroom bap and a sausage bap, bacon was under cooked and cold boiled mushrooms! Sausage bap was cold and gristly. 8 quid for that disappointment, went in the bin outside of the cafe! P.s Poppins, don't even try defend this, eat one...
