Went on a search for a for new restaurants in my area hoping to find something special to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Potterspury House Restaurant sounded like a very interesting possibility, and indeed it was. The layout of this restaurant is very comfortable, as the decor and lighting are much to my liking, filled with subtle character. We opted for the escargot a'la Potterspury House which was an exceptional tasty start. Next was the AMAZING mushroom risotto. This is the best mushroom risotto we have ever had with lovely flavours and textures. For the desert, we had merlot poached pears with rosemary sorbet. My partner loved it and I think It was inventive no doubt, but it just didn’t hit the spot for me so decided to try the crème brûlée as well. Now that was special. I loved the texture, the sweetness, the presentation.I loved everything about it. I must say this place is a secret gem with an excellent culinary adventure. The staff was also top notch, making us feel comfortable and welcome right from the door and we can’t wait to come back again for more excellent dishes and...
Read moreWe are a group of 8 who often meet up to travel and enjoy long dinners at a different restaurant in the UK and across Europe. As we've been meeting since 2011 so have seen quite a bit. We imaginatively branded ourselves as The Dinner Club and are alwasy looking for new friends, and places to experience and enjoy. I must say we absolutely loved Potterspury House Restaurant! The food was out of this world, with real highlights. For me these were the grilled langoustines with roast pumpkin seed butter served with savoury rice, and an absolute show-stealer, and the merlot poached pear with watermelon, saffron and rosewater sorbet which was seriously, seriously good. We also loved the music playing in the background which we felt created a wonderful atmosphere. Most of all we appreciated the personal touch from Marlin & Richard Armstrong (the owners) who went to quite some lengths to create a real memory for us, beyond all expectations. You can tell that Potterspury House restaurant value it's customers highly. We thank you so much and see...
Read moreI took a friend to celebrate her recent engagement, and we couldn't have been more charmed by the chef's impressive display. Within minutes the starter arrived. Crispy maize rounds with a pottage of gold cheese melted and spicy savoury roasted pickled red peppers. As for the main course my friend chose lamb roulade served with crushed pea puree and dauphinoise potatoes and I had roasted gressingham duck breast on a potato rosti served with thyme roasted carrots & red wine jus since I was feeling particularly peckish. Again, the food arrived promptly and we both enjoyed it very much. Then the deserts were out of this world, my friend was thrilled and pleased beyond all expectations. For us it was a 10 out of 10, we will definitely...
