Well the table was nicely laid for us when we arrived. Ordering was okay although they were out of veggie burgers. Then it went a bit down hill. My food was ordered off the NGCI menu and when it came out I said āis this gluten free and veganā and the response was āyeah, probably, yes - it isā - not very reassuring. The childrenās ābig appetitesā meal was tiny. Not suitable for an 8 year old. The fish was brought out so burnt it was inedible. It had already come out a fair bit after the rest of the food that we asked for a refund and were given one and offered a free round of drinks which we politely declined. We still ordered pudding and again mine came out and I asked āis it gluten and dairy free and was told āummm⦠yeah yeah it isā. When pudding came out there were still piles of plates on our table - which I had scraped and stacked to make room for puddingā. The service used to be really friendly and personal. It was slow, at times bordering on rude and inefficient. I would highly recommend using allergy flags for food to reassure customers although considering how ill Iāve been you either didnāt give me the correct food or the cross contamination rules need to be revised because Iāve had a migraine, swollen tongue and severely upset stomach since last night so all in all not a great experience but with some small...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreā ā āāā My experience at Queen of Harts left much to be desired, particularly for a tourist like myself. First and foremost, this restaurant desperately needs a proper "wait to be seated" policy. Being met and seated upon arrival would make a huge difference, especially for visitors unfamiliar with the layout. From a staffing perspective, I noticed what appeared to be an imbalance. There were two people behind the bar when one seemed sufficient, and I counted three or four waitresses when perhaps two would have been plenty for the level of business. This suggests a need for better front-of-house management, and I would strongly recommend reallocating some of that staff to the kitchen. Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy, I waited nearly 50 minutes for my order (see attached photo). Honestly, the kitchen operations need a complete overhaul. My steak was horrendous ā incredibly tough, feeling like a "jaw restoration session" was in order. The fries with pulled pork BBQ were acceptable only because I was so hungry, but they were missing several key ingredients which was disappointing. While I'm sure everyone working there is a great person, and I wish you all the best, serious changes are needed in the kitchen.
Good luck!
P.S. manager is very friendly! I wish you the best with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHave been here many times, but not recently. Itās always been hit and miss, but we came for a Sunday meal with someone who lives in the area. Two of us ordered the ālargeā Sunday lunch. I really think we were charged incorrectly, as the turkey was 2 small slices and the tiniest spoon sized portion of mash. Likewise with the rest of the veg - one small each of cauliflower and broccoli, a few strips of carrots and 3 small roast potatoes. The quality of the food was fine, but not much bigger than a childās portion. However, the Yorkshire pudding was burnt and couldnāt be eaten. That should not have been served at all! The chicken lunch also had the same amount of veg and burnt Yorkie, but the half roast chicken was an adequate portion. The third member of our party had burger and chips. Again a small portion of fries and medium sized burger, but the taste was okay. This could be a really good community pub, it is trying to be. But this was not good value at that price and if they were ālargeā meals, I would hate to see the ānormalā sized Sunday lunch. Felt very let down and would not recommend this pub based on portion sizes for the...
