After looking forward to a lovely meal with 4 friends for a celebratory Sunday lunch and reading positive reviews online, I was extremely disappointed with our experience. On entering, we were told we were very lucky to get a table (although there were several available tables). When chips were ordered (from the menu) we were told by the waitress, “the chef does not like making chips on a Sunday but I will ask”. These never arrived but were charged for on the final bill. The lamb shank was ordered but inedible as it was so tough and could not be removed from the bone. We requested to see the manager twice but never saw anyone and then waited a long time to pay the bill. Do not go! Bar staff are fantastic. Owner/ manager absolutely is not. I'm a health care professional, was charged for drinks I didn't have. Despite her staff telling her we had paid separately for our drinks last night, she had to check. Fair enough. I was left standing for 15 minutes, no explanation of what she was doing. What time did you come in? Was all she said. She was so rude. She needs to leave management to people who are able to make people welcome back again. So really don't go, don't waste your money or time, I spent 65 pounds for an hour or so there. Food was good, staff that served were good, my manners were impeccable, mistake was calling in to a local pub to say, sorry, but you've charged me for something that I didn't have. Shame...

Young bar staff a bit abrupt, as no hello, just a "what can I get you" and it's that it. No smile. Was shown to our table and given menu's by another young waitress, which was a lot better that the bar one. I ordered the Sunday lunch with glazed ham, took around 15mins to arrive, veg comes in a different dish. If your expecting roast potatoes your in for a shock 😲 as what you get is like a jacket potato cut in half ! I'm sorry but this just won't do on a Sunday roast !. Veg was a bit raw and took some sawing through! The mash potatoes were lumpy and grey in colour 🤢. All in all wasn't the best Sunday roast I've had, so unfortunately I won't be ordering...
