Redwood Smokehouse — Restaurant in England

Well this was the first time in going and with my mum having the flyer through her door it was a must. Mum has not been out of the house for 2 years for a meal due to COVID, illness and fear. So we were concerned this may be too much for her, how wrong was I. She ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs and ate the lot. This is the most food she has eaten in 5 months due to poor health. She loved the food, intact she said they were the best ribs she had had in her 64 years. As for me and my partner, he had the full rack as was so quiet I had to make sure he was not in a food coma. As for me I have a chilli allergy. I pointed this out straight away and the cook came to see me. What a lovely couple who run this place. He recommended what I could eat with what I ordered and what I could not and made me a slightly different burger than advertised. BUT omg it was mouthwatering, succulent, tasty and it blew my taste buds. This man does everything from scratch and it's fresh and you can see where he cooks because it's an open kitchen and it GLEAMS with cleanliness. From the moment we walked through the door to eating the sweets paying the bill nothing was too much hassle. Customer care was spot on so I welcome this couple to Rosehill and Shropshire and may it long reign and I wish you all the success in the future. As Arnold Schwarzenegger sai " I'LL BE BACK" ...... Heard nothing but good things about Redwood and finally got around to eating there with friends last night. On arrival the welcome was warm and since, while the staff were very attentive. A wide selection of drinks are available and while I would have appreciated a cask ale rather than bottled beer, there's no complaints about quality. The food (we pretty much ordered all of the starters menu as a group main course) was utterly faultless, generous portions, very tasty, well presented and authentic American style barbecue.

Our only niggle (and it is a minor one) was the ambience, feeling more like a generic restaurant rather than an all American BBQ joint (sounds daft but a bit of country music and American sports we don't understand on a TV screen really helps) but even this is clearly work in progress by the owners.

Went here tonight with family and my 2 year old and I had to come and leave a review. There's not many places like this. You can't compare this to your hickories. This place is better. Food was fresh and bloody delicious. The owners were accommodating and friendly and nothing was to much trouble. They also both made my son feel extremely welcome and settled, always checking he was OK and had everything and also if we were OK and had all we needed. The waffles and chicken were bloody beautiful and my family wouldn't change a thing about the platter. My husband ordered a burger and he isn't usually a burger man but said he was glad he ordered it as it was delicious. All food was so tasty.
