Went here last week as it was recommended as the best local pub with grub. Well, what an absolute horrid experience.. the place is filthy, it's covered in cobwebs, tables are sticky, FLIES EVERYWHERE, dirty chairs - the list goes on. The decor is absolutely horrible, it's supposed to be kitsch and quirky, but it's just creepy, dirty and horrible. Food, their main item is crab, of which there was none available. This was a Tuesday afternoon, by which time you would think they would have secured stock of their main draw. Secondly, they have no ketchup... Now what kind of pub which serves fish and chips has no ketchup?? I could go to the ends of the earth, and they would have it, but here, nope, not possible. Ok for me, but the kids were not impressed at all. Especially after waiting for almost 40 minutes for the food, which was very bog standard. I've had better, fresher food in the city than I had here. The only redeeming feature was the polite waitresses who took orders and served the food... I would avoid this place, as you come out feeling itchy and infested, the level of hygiene is seriously concerning and the flies (indoors) make this impossible to enjoy and eat peacefully.! To sum it up in one word - YUK

We found this place by chance on Trip Advisor on the way back from Plymouth and what a find. From the person who took the phone call to book with less than an hours notice to the staff that were friendly and welcoming, fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. Great to hear the chef singing as she cooked. ( Just don't tell her or she will sing some more 🤣 ) The food was nothing short of spectacular, not a thing left and all cooked to perfection. The chef is clearly an absolute star and should be very proud of the food she serves. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend and we will be back. Given we live in Wolverhampton that will be a drive worth making. Don't be fooled by the exterior and the approach, the place is worth the visit. Superb, thank you guys 😀 UPDATE... Return visit October 2021. Stunning meal again and the lady serving recognised our Boxer, Moose from a year ago, now that's impressive. Food was faultless and the service brilliant. Thanks again guys, see you next year.

Good choice on AirBnB, good value, very clean and fully furnished including the kitchen, large smart TV in living room, every room has attached bathroom. Location is quite Central and convenient to visit other places. There are 3 negatives though, there was an extremely foul rotting fish smell at the main door entrance area. Not sure what was it but was vomit inducing. The other is there is a pub right next door, for some who drink this maybe a big plus but for others maybe a negative. Last negative is it's difficult to find a place to eat in late hours or outside normal lunchtime and dinner times. There is a large car park with cheap prices right in front which had an attached park & children's play area, very convenient. Overall I would definitely recommend this accommodation, hopefully the owner can look at that foul smell at the entrance.

Stayed here in August 2022 but wanted to share our experience. Granted it was during the heatwave of last year but something to bear in mind for future warm spells or hot Summers. We stayed in the Jago Suite. Looks lovely. Except it was almost 30 degrees in there and no aircon. The windows hadn’t been left open in anticipation for our arrival. Both my husband and I are fit and healthy but for anyone with any underlying health conditions this is dangerous. A freestanding fan was supplied but really ineffectual. Windows can be opened but that does mean you are listening to everyone’s conversations in the outdoor area until the pub shuts and also passively smoking their cigarettes. We left feeling exhausted as slept so badly due to the heat/or noise. I know it’s a pub so expected some noise but I’m still shocked they don’t have aircon. Says online (and in room guide) you can order a cooked breakfast. Looked lovely but a tad pricey but we didn’t mind as there’s nowhere else nearby to visit. Unfortunately the waitress/barmaid who greeted us when we arrived (and tried to charge me the full cost of the booking even though I’d already paid half of it) told us there’d be no breakfast as no one to cook it so that put paid to that. We tried to eat here one night. Initially told they were fully booked. Then when they realised we were staying (literally 2 mins later) they’d had a ‘cancellation’! My husband ordered fish goujons advertised on their chalkboard as coming with ‘warm crusty bread’ but turned up with nothing. I asked the waitress where the bread was and she looked at me blankly. Denied any bread was supposed to be with it. I could see she and her colleagues were totally overwhelmed (tables with plates of leftover food and glasses they couldn’t keep up with and clear away) and all seemed quite young, but were polite and doing their best so we didn’t make a scene and hubby ordered fries instead. Underwhelming yet overpriced food. Such a shame as we had high hopes and have friends who live nearby but we won’t be back. 2 stars instead of one as staff were so polite and room was...

We decided to stop here for food on the way back from a dog walk and sat at a table that had apparently been booked but had no reserved sign on for us to know this fact...We were asked to move to the table next to it, (might have been easier to move the table number instead of 3 people and a dog?). We were told we had to wear a mask when standing up (sat outside, in open air) I replied I am exempt which seems to have been the catalyst for our experience slipping further downhill. We ordered drinks and proceeded to look at the chalk board menu, the drinks arrived whilst we were looking. About 15 minutes later my husband went to ask if we had to order food at the bar as despite the server being fully aware we wanted to eat, she hadn't taken our order. Husband was told it's table service and she would be with us in a minute...we waited another 20 minutes for our order to be taken, the last straw was when we watched 3 other tables that arrived after us get their drinks and food orders taken. We decided to leave, before we had got to the car they had already cleared our table.

So they lost the best part of £40 on our order not just today but future orders too as we live locally and the experience has meant we...
