Great little café tucked away in the Garden Centre. It has a lively outdoor area, some of it undercover, and a number of tables inside, which was much more suitable for the overcast chilly day today! The food was lovely, the atmosphere pleasant, and the team a little busy (I think perhaps they were short-handed today). If I'm still around when the warmer weather arrives I'll definitely be back to enjoy some sunshine outside and try some more of the menu.

Fantastic cafe in a lovely garden centre. The new space has great views and lots of seating. Both the coffee and the cakes we tried were really delicious. Service is also excellent with very friendly staff. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Sourdough toast with butter and marmalade and a pot of tea - a delicious breakfast in the very friendly Rowan cafe. And then of course a walk round the plants and gifts - so much to enjoy here!

Was really frustrated to walk all the way here and arrive at 11:32 to find out they stop serving breakfast at 11:30 and don't start taking lunch orders until 12pm, when this is not advertised anywhere online (whatever happened to an all day breakfast?). We then opted for a chicken and bacon ciabatta which came out as a lot [verging on too much] mayo in a ciabatta with small pieces of (and very little amount of) chicken and bacon in for over a tenner, which we thought was a bit crap, when just doing some nice grilled chicken and full rashers of bacon is so simple and so much better/more nutritious, not to mention actually being worth that sort of money. Having said that the setting, coffee were nice and the cakes also looked nice, although did not try as my partner felt so sick from the mayo sandwich lol. Just get the basics right and you have yourself a great cafe...would like to come back if these...

Both the food and staff at Rowan cafe are wonderful. My partner and I regularly travel the extra few miles to Rowan garden centre (rather than our more local one) so we can treat ourselves to something delicious to eat at the same time. The savoury dishes are particularly delicious, as I have a more savoury tooth than sweet. However I'm assured by my sweet toothed friends, that their cakes are equally great. The other day I rocked up at 3.25pm (35 minutes before they were due to close) and the friendly staff assured me that I had plenty of time to have whatever I wanted. Choosing the haddock and smoked salmon fish cake off the specials board, it was freshly made and the combination of ingredients, flavours and the sauce it was served on was utterly scrumptious. Thank you to whoever creates these great food delights, you and your whole team are a credit. Keep up...

The cafe has really gone down hill since the garden centre owners have taken over. The food isn't what it was, nor the cake and drinks. The brownie I had was just like eating granulated sugar, there was no cake consistency whatsoever. The tea mugs are chipped, tables sometimes aren't very clean. There's nothing special about the food anymore and feels a lower quality. The new management isn't as friendly as the previous owners. Ive been a few times since the change and gave it many chances, its a shame what its become, it was a nice place to stop when walking the dogs. I hope the new extension can improve on what exists currently. I'm sad to say I won't be going back again until things have changed. (Many friends and family.feel...
