Royal Jaipur — Restaurant in England

A large Indian Restaurant situated just off the main Salisbury - Southampton road. Plenty of parking. No booking required when I visited early on a Friday evening. We had a table for 5, overall the quality of the meal was disappointing. For example, lime soda was a small glass of soda water with a dask of lime cordial. No fresh lime or ice in sight. The lamb tikka masala sauce was good, but the lamb was tough and difficult for our elderly guest to eat. The Haryali chicken was also cooked too long and was on the dry and chewy side. Garlic naan was plain naan with perhaps a small amount of garlic butter applied (it was difficult to tell as the naan was not moist and I am not sure the garlic taste didn't originate from the main dish). Onion bhaji was ok as were the poppadoms and pickles. Overall, lots of staff but disappointing food, at least for those menu...

We chose Royal Jaipur while looking for somewhere near our campsite to have a birthday meal out - and we weren't disappointed. The food was delicious (we kept eating when already full because it was so delicious), the service was attentive and polite, and we were impressed by the clear attention to detail in their COVID-19 precautions. When paying, we asked the waiter for the best number to call for a taxi. Shortly afterwards, the manager came over and apologetically told us that it's really hard and expensive to get one, because they have to come from Salisbury or Southampton but then offered to drive us back to the campsite. By pure luck we have discovered this great Indian restaurant when were staying in New Forest lodge last weekend.

We were warmly welcomed right from the beginning and well looked after during our dinner.

The food was delicious. 10 out of 10 to the chef!

The staff is very polite, friendly and helpful.

The opening times are Tuesday to Thursday from 5 pm to 10 pm. Saturday and Sunday from 5 pm to 10:30 pm. Sunday from 5 pm to 9:30 pm. Monday is closed.
