Read moreReserved a table for 3 adults, 2 children and a dog. Such good friendly attentive service and that included to our Labrador with a bowl of water served to him! Shared starter for two was generous and the sausage roll particularly very tasty, all well cooked too. My son thought he had got the wrong burger served and they offered to change it, he then realised it was his mistake and yet they still offered to change it but he declined as it was his fault, quite but what a generous offer to make. I thought the Korean belly was very tasty and my wife's fish had a nice light crispy batter too, and the two grandchildren vacuumed up their chicken nuggets. No plans to visit Taunton again yet at the moment but would definitely pop in here again for food. Great value for money. Even a couple of local customers were friendly chatty and took a shine to our Lab. Nice pint of Abbott's here too, just a shame they ran out. Shame we couldn't stay for the quiz night. Some of Greene King's pubs we have gone off lately and avoid but this one as part of Hive group (I think) was something GK should aspire too as shown by the owners of...
Read moreTried the newly refurbished “ Sheps “ today and was pleasantly surprised. I liked the decor once I was in rather than seeing it in photos. We are ladies who lunch, Julie, Doreen, Kerry ( not in photo)and Wendy. The ladies toilets are much improved and quite a “ lady” feel to them. Had a good chat with Ryan and Justin who are both pleasant chaps. The landlords of a village pub should have good interaction with their customers, we are a different kettle of fish to city dwellers and prefer that personal touch, which we always got with the last landlord and his lovely wife Mia. Continue to do what you did today with your presence and you won’t go far wrong. Food to a good standard as it always was with John’s chef Simon, for fish and chips and scampi and chips but felt the Macaroni cheese was a bit stingy. Kerry said she would have been happy with the size for a seniors lunch but not for the cost of a Mains. Ryan agreed and gave Kerry a free drink. Good call . Will definitely go again and hope to have some interaction with Ryan and Justin. ...
