Sizzling Plate Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in England

Having been recommended this restaurant, we gave it a try this evening. The menu choice was good and we chose dishes we'd had previously enjoyed elsewhere but unfortunately found our choices lacking in flavour and spiciness. We were unable to pay by credit or debit card, though we were told there was a cash machine close by if we didn't have sufficient money with us. A dad arrived with three children, one of which needed a highchair only to be told they didn't have highchairs so he had to order a takeaway and come back. It states it's a child friendly restaurant, but no highchairs? All in all it was disappointing, we were hoping to return with our family including young grandchildren in the future but it doesn't have...

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! We called in after York Races and on seeing that they don't take cards we asked if there was an ATM machine nearby. We were told there was one in shop across road but we could get it later. I went to get cash after placing order but machine couldn't read it 🙈. Went back to restaurant and explained but was told not to worry could drop in another time - we mentioned tomorrow morning but they only opened at 5pm. Was told again not to worry, could put through door!!! We ended up eating our meal and driving a couple of miles to a Tesco where we got money out and returned to pay bill. Btw the food was...

All i can say is WOW! We live in York city centre and have seen this place when visiting clients in the area so decided to give it a try. BEST decision ever! Not only can you take your own alcohol but the food was amazing, the atmosphere was lovely and the service was incredible! The set menu was fantastic and Raja (sorry if spelt incorrectly) gave us some of the best, if not the best, service we have ever had in a restaurant. Cannot...
