Spice Garden — Restaurant in England

Called up to place an order, the guy was quite abrupt and because of the poor reception in my house he couldn't understand me. I tried to explain that I had poor connection and proceeded to order my food. All I asked was if they were doing any deals and the guy asked me if I was taking the piss and that this was not a macdonalds! I was shocked and angry at that response! The man on the phone pushed me to start an argument. Rude person on the phone and terrible customer service. My wife then attempted to call back to try and explain the situation and when she asked him for his name, he refused and challenged my wife to come over to speak to management if she had any issues, stating that he refuses to give any personal information. He then told my wife that he had other customers to serve and disconnected the call. I must admit I have eaten there before and the food was good, but not good enough to tolerate such rude behaviour. Some people need to brush up on their manners especially when assisting customers...

Unimpressed. Dining alone I was ushered to a table I didn't want to sit at, I wanted a place not so exposed. I pointed at one but was told no, I had to sit where they told me. Ordered Chicken Tikka Pasanda with mushroom bhaji. Passanda was a gloop sauce with no aromatics and some crunchy bits which didn't taste like almonds at all. Chicken was stale and tough. Mushroom bhaji was tinned mushrooms - normal mushroom don't come that symmetrical. Generous portion overall and the Cobra beer was perfect. However, to top it all, I am followed out of the restaurant and accused of not paying. No apology. Disappointing as I hadn't eaten since the morning and was hungry and just passing through. I don't normally write bad reviews which nit pick and would normally raise issues with the establishment at the time but it was late, I was tired and just wanted...

I don't normally bother with reviews but I have been several times and have been so impressed with Spice Garden. The food is really good , there is a lovely ambience about the restaurant , cosy, warm, and intimate . But the most important thing which I find lacks in most other restaurants is their service level. They are very friendly, very welcoming and having worked in restaurants before I know that they have thought about their service from the moment you come through the door until you leave the door. They are superb in their hospitality and their food is truly amazing.
