On arrival you enter through a gift shop which then leads you into the deli section. The fresh meats all are supplied from Carters butchers in Bamburgh, however not sure who supplies the bakery items but looked inviting .There are some nice preserve’s and other stuff on sale also in the deli but I am sure you will find something for most people. We next went to the cafe which we were greeted by a very happy young man who took our order. We ordered the Stilton and broccoli Quiche with new potatoes and the Haggis fritters with peppercorn sauce and side salad. The quiche was wonderful as were the buttered new potatoes. The haggis fritters were quite average but this was not the establishments fault, more the manufacturers but the home made coleslaw was the star as it was fresh and full of flavour.

This wasn’t our first visit here. It was very busy when we arrived, so we waited by the signboard until the barista asked us to take a seat and gave us a menu. Unfortunately, it took quite a while before anyone came to take our order. My husband suggested I go to the till instead, but when I stood there, a staff member told me they would take our order at the table. What was frustrating is that the staff took the order from the next table before ours, even though we had been waiting longer. Once our order was finally taken, the food arrived quickly – in fact, faster than the table next to us. We also noticed a large group at a long table complaining about something as well. The food and coffee were good, but the service definitely needs improvement.

On our way to Aberdeen from Derby we were planning on stopping at some random service station and thought instead to go into the nearest town for food and saw Sunnyhills and we were nothing short of blown away by the customer service and the quality of food there! I went in with my boyfriend thinking this seems alright and leaving thinking we’ll be coming back on our return home. My stake and ale pie was AMAZING and my boyfriend’s Burger was really good also with a very colourful side salad and some crispy fries. Their little farm shop is also fully stocked from fresh food to handcrafted local gins and beers and some gorgeous handcrafted soaps and trinkets also sourced locally. If I could give more stars I would. WELL DONE āļø

If you buy a takeaway, check the contents before you leave. My wife and I were missing the mushy peas and bread and butter from our takeaway meals and were charged £8.50 each although the Facebook takeaway states £7.95. No cutlery was offered and we wrongly assumed there would be some. We always support our local businesses where possible and we are fair in our reviews. Just a shame as the fish and chips we did receive was excellent. Before I did this review I emailed the venue to offer feedback but had no response.

*updated after initial reply.

I'm sorry if you feel offended by my genuine review but surely you must agree that being overcharged and having items missing from the food is pretty poor? I was perhaps a little harsh in awarding 2 stars as the fish was exceptional so have revised to 3, however I too stand by my review. Please donate the overpaid money to a local good cause. Having a long winded rant at your customers after what we have experienced does your business no favours I can assure you. You clearly have a fiery personality which is reflected in your post. By all means defend your establishment if you think I was attacking it. Fortunately, I wasnt but merely pointing out the inconsistencies in what we ordered, what we received and what we paid. Good luck for...

We never seem to do very well here. On a previous visit we had to leave as a funeral wake was booked for lunch. At this most recent visit we did get to have lunch. On arrival a board asks you to wait saying you would be shown to your table. But this didn't happen: a young woman reached over the counter with two menus and said to find a table. We perused the menu but didn't know if we had to order at the counter or at the table - another young woman came and took our order. No one mentioned the specials board, which was a shame as we would have been tempted to order one of the dishes off it. The chicken tikka sandwich was tasty, but cold, and the chunky bits of chicken kept falling out. The wrap consisting of haddock goujons in batter was hot and tasty, but soggy, the tartare sauce a bit hit and miss. It's not cheap to eat there - and it's always cold as they insist on having two doors open even if it's cold and windy. We doubt if we shall try again as there are lots of other places to eat within a...

I had the pleasure of visiting while out for a spin on my motorcycle. I'd heard good reports, so keen to discover for myself. First impression, it was very busy, however plenty of staff, all who were very cheerful.and helpful. Plenty of seating space both inside and out. It also has a play area for kids. Always a bonus for them to burn off some energy outside. I ordered a pot of tea, and a BLT. It arrived quickly, and was very well presented, and looked very tempting. Tucking into it, it was pleased to.note the bacon was quality, plenty of it, cooked to perfection (for my taste) and delicious. Plenty of trimmings too. Loved it. Just over £11 which was good value given the staffing costs these days, courtesy of our delightful Chancellor. The other food being served to.other customers looked equally well presented, and tempting. Will I return ? Absolutely yes. Will I recommend? Absolutely yes. Well worth a...
