This was my second visit to the Angel inn, there is a large car park, on entering the inn it has an incredible atmosphere and look around inside. There is plenty of seating for the customer's. The menu has good assortment for the staters, mains and deserts. There is also a specials board you can select from as well. The staff and service are first class. This is a very friendly place for families, in part of the venue dogs are allowed. I highly recommend you visit the Angel Inn and sample what is on offer, you will be well impressed and will want to come back again and again. Today, 30th May 2019, I had lunch here, which now is going to become a monthly event. 5 star's is the highest rating available, this place deserves a even higher rating than that. The layout within the Inn has been changed, and to my delight has made it even more spectacular, increased the amazing atmosphere enormously. The members of staff working today, Emma, Annabell, Mickey and not forgetting Pawet working on his day off. Made everything about your time there, having your meal and drinks incredible enjoyable. There all worked extremely hard but still had a smile on their faces and a spring in their steps. I cannot recommend this Inn high enough. Know matter where you are in Dorset ensure you have time to visit the "Angel Inn" in Ferndown. To be honest I would strongly recommend that you make a booking if going for a meal as this Inn will become extremely busy soon. I have added phots from my last visit, including pictures of Emma, Annabell, Mickey and Pawet.... Enjoy your time here and the excellent food.

My friend and I visited for lunch on a Saturday. The inn was about half full, so we had plenty of choice in where to sit. The lunch menu mainly consisted of sandwiches, so we had (between us) a BLT and a fish-finger sandwich. The food was tasty, and reasonably priced, for around £7 for a sandwich and £3 for chips (I had sweet-potato fries). The interior of the inn was also nicely decorated and there was ample parking. However, our experience could have been improved in a few ways: the food was lukewarm when it arrived, which was disappointing but not a big deal. Additionally, there was no table service as we were expected to order by app (we ended up ordering at the bar). However, these minor drawbacks did not take away from the pleasant experience, and we received great service from the staff hence the four star rating. All in all, we would return to this establishment. Thanks very much!

Hadn't been for maybe 8 years. It was quite full. We'd booked a table as recommended. Short wait for table to be cleared. Really polite and friendly bar man and waiters. Ordered 2 full beef roasts, 1 fish & chips and 1 small beef roast. Reasonable waiting time. Came hot and looked lovely but beef on 2 full roasts was undercooked and couldn't cut though it at all, let alone chew it. Waitress was very apologetic and didn't hesitate on changing for chicken instead. Both dinners came out hot within 10 minutes and were very enjoyable. Peas where over cooked and dry on fish and chips but otherwise all was tasty and enjoyable. We will go back but definitely won't have beef again. Overall a very nice place to enjoy a relaxed meal and catch up with family or friends.

Updated review: we tried the Angel again after 18 months after the review below but unfortunately it didn't impress again. The service was sub par apart from our second waitress. Despite it being a Thursday night, the atmosphere was quiet and the service was slow. It really is such a shame because it has such great potential. Perhaps we'll try again in another 18 months.

We have just had a meal at The Angel and have never experienced such awful service. Please avoid. We were always the first people to recommend The Angel and always had such a good time, good food and atmosphere. However the last few months since new management have been absolutely awful. They never have the wine we want (the most expensive), multiple dishes weren't available and the service was so slow it was a horrendous experience. There was apparently only one chef for nearly a full house and not enough serving staff. We ended up with cheap wine which was rubbish, the food took 2 HOURS to get main courses, despite booking for 5.30pm so we could get the children to bed at a reasonable time. We've been to The Angel for many Christmas's and this was the worst one yet. We were tempted to leave before we had even ordered because we were there for 45 minutes before they even bothered to ask for our order. It is such a shame but apparently the previous manger has moved to The Smugglers so we'll be going there from now on despite The Angel being our local....

IMPORTANT UPDATE 18/04/2025.What a Disaster!!!!! We took my Father for his 95 Birthday to The Angel on Saturday. I could write a book about this, but to be concise. Table booked for 6. Only 5 place on the table we given. Order drinks, all o.k Ordered food, (No Starters )45 minutes passed. We were told order lost. We had to Re order.......a further 40 mins passed and we spoke to the Manager and she informed us the order was lost..again.,but the drinks were free. The same waiter then arrived again and seemed to try and remember what we ordered!!!! Even though he wrote this down twice! Then 4 of the 6 meals arrived...then we he had to order the other 2.....eventally 1 arrived "seriously" then eventually my sandwich arrived... order complete. The manager was spoken to again and she very kindly told us that it was all "On the House" IMPORTANT UPDATE I have subsequently have had communication and a one to one telephone conversation with Mr W Brink, from Hall & Woodhouse Limited. He took the situation very seriously and we had very relaxed, constructive and useful conversation. The result being that we will be returning to a Hall & Woodhouse Inn in the very near future thanks to Mr Brinks generosity. I am sure this time we will have a more true experience of what Hall & Woodhouse have to offer. Thanks...
