The Bay Horse Inn — Restaurant in England

I have come here regularly for a long time- the last two times the food has disappointed. Today I had mushroom stroganoff and my friend had the chicken stroganoff. Mine was a different colour, tasted different and it had a thick layer of oil on the top- the staff disappeared and so I just picked out the mushrooms. When the staff appeared I called her over to show her the sauce as it was inedible and I had left most of my meal. She took it away and returned to say my friends was different because it had less paprika in and more cream. I said and that makes it ok- because? - she said I have given your comments to the cook and mushrooms make it oily- . There was no apology or any attempt to rectify it. Absolutly amazing!

The staff were lovely! It was quiet when we went (thursday for lunch), the place was very clean and laid out lovely, with adequate room to social distance. The food was amazing! They had the BEST onion rings I have ever had! The sizes were very generous and I couldn't finish my meal. A lovely choice to choose from, not loads and loads of options but I found that better, limited vegetarian options but would still go back with my vegetarian sister in the future. Very good price as the quality was amazing! They are doing the Eat out to Help out which you need to book for as they are already filling up quickly, we went on a Thursday so not the offer day and was shocked with how cheap the food was for how much we got! My husband and I went here for lunch. Before we went we checked their menu out on there website all looked very nice. We haven't been here for a very long time we used to go where we were courting which was over 35 years ago and haven't been since till today, the place looks exactly the same just a bit worse for wear very sticky tables and worn seats that all could do with some TLC. Food was good value for money husband had the Black and blue burger and I had the black and blue parmo pictures attached. There were four things on the menu that weren't available! and the desert menu that was on the website had Churros on which was to be honest the main reason we went and well they are now not on their menu they just haven't updated...
