Not as good as what I was lead to believe out side tables needed a good clean inside was more like a dining room in a OAP rest home The atmosphere was very depressing The coffee was under whelming the only saving grace was at least it was served in China and not cardboard cups and as for the cakes the almond slice was greasy and tired lacking any flavour and the iced Bakewell tart was no better as a head chef I would be embarrassed and ashamed to offer it to customers paying or not but who ever is running this establishment should take a good look at the quality of the offer and ask them self if that is the standard they expect from their own business I think it would have been better to throw the cakes in the bin and start again and if they can't bake better then order some in from a professional baker who has pride in the product they are making if you must go to this establishment have a good look...

Visited 3 times so far in the last week. Tea and cake the first time. The Lemon drizzle cake was so moist, heavy lemony gloriousness. Tea and Coffe really good quality. What stands out here is the service amd friendliness of the staff. Based on that we went for breakfast the following morning. We were rewarded with the same friendly staff and a freshly cooked breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble. I asked for my beans in a separate bowl, my eggs cooked a certain way. All done with a smile. Third trip today and we took 3 other guests. All having different food requirements, all catered for with accuracy and the same smiles. We have visited Bay Tree at Goonhavern many many times as we live locally so today (14 th April) my Husband booked a table for 12.30 as a surprise for me as it was our 52nd Wedding anniversary. We always book the table in front of the trellis by the window.When my Husband asked if this table was available there was no problem. When we arrived we were told the table that was reserved for us was a table for 2 in the middle of the restaurant. When we said it should be the table in front of the trellis we were told the bigger tables are reserved for more than 2 people. This is understandable as it was very busy being the Easter holidays but when we sat down, the table we wanted had only 2 people sitting on it as did the 2 tables in front.
