It's a beautiful beach, very tranquil, the sand is oh so perfect and the colours of the sea are awesome. Sadly, the corporate moguls have slowly but surely strangled the life, happiness and joy out of this bay. No longer is it a family beach. Difficult to park and expensive it is designed for the rich and idle. The cafe has been rebuilt and compared to what it was like it is lovely, overlooking the beach. Even a coffee is not cheap but it was worth the walk from St Ives to sit and enjoy the ambiance for an hour so and people watch. I have to say though for all its corporate image and upmarket chalets they have done it very well and the newly stocked gardens which you walk through on the coastal path are a delight and will look even better next year. Go and have a look.

We booked in for a late lunch (2pm) 24/09/21 after a lovely day in the bay. The food was pricey but expected for the location but unfortunately the quality was very poor along with the service. We ordered 2 x burgers and pizza for my daughter. The burgers where tasteless and on cheap rolls, they came with chips but not sauces were offered and at £21 per burger you expect effort to be made on the quality…it’s really not that hard . The pizza was again tasteless and one slice eaten before rejected. At no point where we asked if the meal was ok, even when we paid. £71.95 in total for poor service and food.

I was worried initially about coming here as I had read many bad reviews. However, we had an excellent meal - the food was delicious, the service was quick and attentive and there was live music playing in the background. The view is wonderful from the restaurant, despite the weather having been a bit miserable whilst we were there. The decor is nice and the tables are nicely spaced apart so it doesn’t feel crowded. It is an expensive place to eat but at the same time the food was tasty and of high quality and the setting is one of a kind. I would return again, and was glad to have come here.

On arrival I greeted the two waitresses, they just looked at me.

Ask for a table for three, was told to sit anywhere, although some had reserved. Not a huge problem I am here for food and the views and will just not tip.

Customer already seated told me about the half hour wait. This was due to an inspection (I should of asked why they were there)

With service as a first impression lacking I stayed because of the views and I wanted food.

Food ordered, quickly came out but wrong order for myself. We are all human but my two guest were left with there food. Therefore, they would be eating with out me for some time. Obviously, they will most likely finish before me also.

I I tolerated it and did not say anything as I am away with my family. Waited patiently and when my scallops came, it looked beautiful on the plate. Finally, I could enjoy what I had came here for, which was to eat. However, the scallops were stone cold in the middle.

Waitress took back when I heard the chef say if I re do the scallops they would be over cooked then! ...Laughable when your not hungary....Service is not somthing I would willingly accept or paid for. I said cancel it please.

No one came over to ask if the two meals ordered were ok. The other table were. There was a clear divide now on service received.

No apology or any complementary or discount added in despite of the fact that I had no meal.

Inadequate throughout by all staff members.

I am currently sat in a near by resultant and I've eaten on my own in front of my two children who ate in your restaurant.

My main fraustration is how can i walk out when my children have half eaten there food? Due to them being served before me.

I was totally ignored after sending a plate of raw undercooked seefood which can I say no one in there right mind would have eaten!

To say I am annoyed is an understatement...I'm away with my children righting my first negative review about anywhere and was charged full price the pleasure

I'm sure if anything, the lesson I've learnt here is I will never sit there in unbelief again and would just walk out! But at the same time I hope I never receive such service anywhere.

Awful,...

A truly disappointing experience. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had.

My partner and I visited for dinner and were left standing for about 10 minutes without being acknowledged or seated. Despite there being only a few tables occupied and several staff present, no one offered assistance. We had to grab our own menus and ask a waitress if we could sit down. Once seated, we waited another 20 minutes before anyone came to take our order.

We started with the chicken Caesar salad and fried squid these were decent and gave us some hope for the rest of the meal. Sadly, that’s where the positives ended. My partner ordered the beef and pork ragù pasta, and I ordered the salmon pasta. After waiting about 35 minutes (and still no cutlery), we received two ragù pastas instead of one pasta salmon dish.

When we pointed out the mistake, I was told it would be another 15 minutes for the correct dish. Meanwhile, I had to ask them to take my partner’s pasta as well before it got cold and to bring them at the same time. When the salmon pasta finally arrived, the dish was underwhelming the salmon was dry, lacked any seasoning, and sat in a pool of watery sauce. It genuinely tasted like it had been pre-cooked long ago. The ragù pasta, while over-portioned, lacked refinement and balance it was essentially a mountain of mince.

To make matters worse, we had ordered dessert with our mains to avoid more waiting. However, after finishing our meals, we still hadn’t received anything. When we asked a staff member, he said he’d check and then never returned. Desserts eventually arrived 30 minutes later, by which point we were the only customers left in the restaurant. The presentation was nice, but there were no cutlery provided again. When we asked for them, a staff member looked confused, as if we had misplaced them ourselves. We had to cut the cheesecake with a knife.

The final bill came to £190, including a £20 service charge which we asked to be removed. This was the first time we’ve ever done that, but the level of service and overall experience left us no choice.

Sadly, I would not recommend this place, and we won’t...

Great view and location but that’s about it. Was seated at 2.30pm (4th Aug) nobody gave us a menu so we waited a bit as we could see they were busy. 3pm and still nobody came to our table so We asked for a menu and then the waitress gave us a board to scan QR code to order online. She looked annoyed that we asked her for a menu. Signal is weak on the terrace so we couldn’t view menu online. Asked the same waitress for a paper menu which she gave us but didn’t even bother to return to take our order. Had to get up and walk into the restaurant and asked if anyone was available to take our drink and food order. The host sent the same miserable waitress over to us who hadn’t even once apologized for any delay. We finally ordered food and drinks after 40 mins, not great when you have two hungry kids! Food finally came 3.40pm and it was okay, not worth the price and the non existence customer service from the waitress. I then had to ask for the bill and then asked if I could make payment. The waitress advised that she had to go inside the restaurant to connect the card machine..so why on earth did she give us a board with QR code to order online if she already knew there is no signal on the terrace!!?? I understand restaurants get busy but a simple ‘we are busy, there is a delay or ‘I will be with you as soon possible’ would of made the difference or even any type of acknowledgement we are sitting on the table waiting!! We literally had to ask for everything at this restaurant. I could not be bothered to complain because I could not wait to leave this restaurant. One of my worse restaurant experiences and annoyed that we had to pay so much for such a...
