I had heard a lot about this place from my good friend and travelled up from London to have the chew Magna experience. It’s one of the main pubs in the little town and as we walked in the place had a homely and cosy vibe to it. I am individual who appreciates detail and the first thing that caught my eye was the aesthetics of the dinning area was very pleasing the tables were set beautifully and the furniture has beautiful up cycling details that was nostalgic.
We ordered the teriyaki beef, buttermilk wings, pardon peppers and Mac n Cheese. They were all truly exceptional. We ordered stakes and pork tomahawk roast as well as the Hake. Two of the stakes were over done and not to taste however the staff were exceptional as we asked for two new ones. They arrived fairly promptly, and were done much better.
The Tomahawk was the piste de resistance of the meal. The staff were incredibly friendly with great humour they also gave us complementary sticky toffee pudding to make up for the stakes going back.

This was one of the very few places I’ve visited where the food the venue and the service was remarkableI and well priced for the quality of the experience, highly recommend! Ps I’m not a fan of sticky toffee pudding but I’m...

We nearly went back to our room thinking we had made a mistake as there was clearly no tables set for breakfast. We found the manager and she cleared the table of all of the wine glasses and extra cutlery.||Our soap dispenser in our room broke so I reported it at the bar in the morning when we went out for the day. On our return it was still broken. ||We used to love the Bear and Swan but now it does not feel like it is run by...
