Pulled up and parked up. Checked in and was shown to our room with all the details of what we need to be Covid safe etc. Showered, changed and went to the bar where we ordered some drinks and went to a table outside where we stayed and ordered one of the speciality Pizzas cooked in a wood fired oven. Beer kept really well and the Landlord knows his Guest Sales. The Pizza turned up on a wooden board, thin crusted and plenty of toppings(see website for menu's) and cooked to perfection. That lot went down really well and we retired to our room. The rooms are small but have everything you need for over night stays and are very clean and well looked after. Only have one small moan, theres one pillow per side of the bed, so woke up with a bit of a crooked neck, but that's just me n my age 😁 The Brekkie in the morning is delivered and placed outside your door with a knock as an alarm call for 8am sharp. Buttered Croissant, Grenola, yogart, Strawberries, Blueberries, Raspberries and Orange Juice in a bag, all local produce and very well prepped in their own boxes etc. Really enjoyed the Breakfast and everything about the Pub n our stay. Bikers are welcome and the only parking is in the carpark at the front of the Pub, was allowed to chain our bikes to the metal railings out front, so no problems. If you're heading Southwest and need a stop over, then this little place is a must šŸ˜‰

Lovely place on a small village, the decoration and the fire were so cosy and nice. We arrived first time on Saturday night and were expecting to have some food but unfortunately the place was totally full as they were having a party, but still we got offered pizzas which are wood fire made. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and attentive. We had some drinks and then returned on the day after for lunch as we were quite curious about the food. Once again we were very welcomed and been given a table on the back, the food was amazing and we ordered the merlot house wine which was very good as well. As it was Sunday they were only doing roasts so we’ve ordered the Pork Leg with Crackling and the Nut Roast which was amazing this is definitely a must have, the sides were made to perfection as well too, everything was delicious and big portions. The dessert was alright but quite small portion to the price. The gravy was the best I ever had in my life, it was clearly homemade. The place is beautiful and it is definitely worth to visit.

Hi. We celebrated my husband Ray’s 70th birthday at this superb venue on Wednesday evening. My son and I dropped by in the afternoon to decorate the party table and leave a cake. When we all arrived in the evening, we received a very warm welcome from Chloe and was shown to our table by a lovely waitress. The service we received throughout was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were around if we needed anything. Our three courses were delicious. My son who lives and works in Hackney particularly loved his venison burger saying it was the best he had ever had. High praise indeed. The lights were dimmed and the birthday cake arrived held by Chloe. The candles all lit and decorated with Rays name iced on it. The other patrons in the restaurant all joined in with singing happy birthday. It was so perfect and will always be remembered. Thank you so much to the whole team. You have everything perfected. Very hard to find this total perfection in other venues. We will definitely be returning.

Well booked here as seeing friends and wanting to treat my partner after upsetting time. As been pub before and is nice. Staff friendly and welcoming on arrival. Was a bit taken back that had to pre-order breakfast on check in. So went to room and after paying £120 was expecting a lovely room. Had to save money. I was very disappointed at room soon as went in. Cold on arrival. Shower in bedroom just inside door. No wardrobe just 4 coat hangers so would been a nightmare if been staying longer. Well the standard of the room was disgusting. Filthy. Carpet not been hoovered as crumbs on the floor. I walked around in shoes the whole time. So take slippers. Cobwebs all around the window and window slats which also very dusty. Bathroom sink dirty behind taps and black hairs and dust behind toilet brush. Vents not been cleaned ever. Toilet roll holder hanging off. Tiles dirty and shower could do with proper clean. Radiator put on and couldn't turn down. Had a humming in bedroom all night. So went for breakfast and informed housekeeper about noise. Another couple had same thing. Breakfast was a disaster. After chef asking if wanted meat or vegetarian sausages. I said meat and still bought vegetarian. Another couple poached egg was raw. Housekeeper came and apologised to us all and said Email manager. I did inform her of filthy room. She been doing job for years apparently well think she needs training. Absolutely disgusted at Manager for not getting back to me after Email. I would not recommend this place for staying. Wouldn't let my dog stay here. Food in the evening was nice. Apart from oh so creamy sauce not creamy. Barman/Waiter Irish was really nice and very helpful and friendly. So upset as looking forward to staying here. And room under metal stairs so noisy when people going up and down. I've stayed in...

Booked a room here and arrived to check in at 3:30pm - the room wasn’t ready. Waited at the bar, no apology or complimentary drink. Not a good start. ||Room was smaller than expected with a double bed pushed against a wall, a solo wooden chair and a wooden box with a limescale riddled kettle perched on-top. ||Although the room was warm, the hot water running through the pipes made a constant loud hum that couldn’t be stopped - you could change the pitch if you held the pipes. The metal staircase with people stomping up and down was the icing on the noisy cake… or so we thought. ||Food service according to their website was supposed to start at 6:30pm, we arrived from our room at 6:25pm to be told it would be an hour to get a table - so we waited in the bar for an hour. |Then we asked again, this time we progressed to the restaurant and were given menus. |Waited another hour. |No one approached to explain a delay.|No one came to take our order.|No one asked if we’d like a drink. |No one came to apologise for the vile service.|NO ONE CAME AT ALL. ||We gave up waiting and retuned to our room unable to get food elsewhere and now well past 8pm, we were hangry and not at all impressed. As soon as we knew we were safe to drive from our drink,we handed the key back and headed home via McDonalds to finally get some food.||If you can’t provide food for the occupants of your booked rooms then why are you even operating?||We were away on a one night break and this place was a complete waste of our...
