The atmosphere is friendly and the place feels fresh, clean and new. The only thing which spoils this are the yappy dogs and smokers. The staff are polite, friendly and provide superb service. We ordered the roast beef and chicken and were told a side of veg would be provided. The roast turned up which looked fairly standard but then it changed. The Yorkshire puddings the likes I've never tasted, light, fluffy and far from stodgy. Now the veg. Roast Parsnips, carrots, whole green beans and braised red cabbage, which tasted like Christmas. The roast potatoes for me were bland, as I always add rosemary and garlic. 90 miles was a hell of a journey for a roast but well worth it....

I had the short rib of beef the first Sunday, the rump steak on the Tuesday and then on the second Sunday (might I add that this wasn't the same week) I had the lamb. Simply wonderful.
