The Bird at Westhay has recently undergone renovations, and the results are nothing short of spectacular. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for any occasion, whether a casual hangout or a special event. Their beer selection is impressive, featuring a variety of local brews and classic favorites that cater to all tastes. The food is another highlight, with a menu that boasts a fantastic range of dishes for both adults and children. What's particularly noteworthy is their commitment to accommodating dietary requirements. Since everything is made onsite, dishes can easily be customised, ensuring that everyone, from vegans to those with gluten sensitivities, can find something delicious to enjoy. The outdoor area is lovely, offering a great space to relax and unwind, particularly on sunny days. The Bird at Westhay also keeps things lively with regular events, including quiz nights and live music, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to your visit. Overall, The Bird at Westhay is a gem that combines great food, a friendly atmosphere, and excellent service. It's definitely worth a visit!

Friendly staff, great atmosphere, quality food. All served quickly and professionally. We both had the Steak. The onion rings were incredible very light and crispy at first we thought it was the wrong meal as they looked like a large Yorkshire pudding 😁. The Bird gets very busy so I would advise reserving a table. There is a carpark but it soon gets full, some limited spaces on the road. Book an early evening table to make life easier for parking.

This little pub is a Somerset gem. Food was some of the best i’ve ever had, you can tell everything is homemade. We loved how the menu highlights all the Somerset ingredients too! It was absolutely delicious, a very talented chef. The atmosphere and interior of the pub is beautiful and the team are wonderful and so, so welcoming. Really looking forward to returning! 🤩

From the car park, you walk through what looks like a brand new patio area with tables. The pub itself loos like it's just been refitted. The atmosphere is friendly and the place feels fresh, clean and new. The only thing which spoils this are the yappy dogs and smokers. The staff are polite, friendly and provide superb service. We ordered the roast beef and chicken and were told a side of veg would be provided. The roast turned up which looked fairly standard but then it changed. The Yorkshire puddings the likes I've never tasted, light, fluffy and far from stodgy. Now the veg. Roast Parsnips, carrots, whole green beans and braised red cabbage, which tasted like Christmas. The roast potatoes for me were bland, as I always add rosemary and garlic. 90 miles was a hell of a journey for a roast but well worth it....

I have had the pleasure of eating here 3 times now. Twice for a Sunday lunch and once on a Tuesday. Each meal has been excellent!

I had the short rib of beef the first Sunday, the rump steak on the Tuesday and then on the second Sunday (might I add that this wasn't the same week) I had the lamb. Simply wonderful.

A friend of mine who is in his late 60s, and a lover of red meat, commented that it was the best beef he has ever had in his life. Now that's a statement! A man who's had hundred of beef dinners says that this trumps the rest.

The average price for the Sunday lunches is £10.50 and it comes with delicious vegetables and...
