We asked how the 'kids eat free' promotion worked, were told which menu to order from, then later on were told we were supposed to have ordered the free meal from the children's menu, WHICH WE WERE NEVER GIVEN OR EVEN TOLD ABOUT. Waiting staff don't have a clue. So we ended up paying for 3 adult meals. Drinks were pricey, £9+ for 3 J2O's which we reluctantly bought as we prefer cold soft drinks with no sweeteners but no regular Coca-Cola or draught Pepsi here. Your choice is hot drinks, alcohol (no good for the driver), water or soft drinks laced with sweeteners. Sadly too many places are going this way, despite some people being allergic to sweeteners and many more folks can get migraines, upset stomachs, etc from them. Food was hit and miss. Everything arrived hot, steak and ale pie was okay but the lasagne was so greasy it made my wife feel sick toward the end of it. The Parmo was similar, nice enough to begin with but too much cheese meant it didn't get finished. Probably would of had a better time going to the McDonalds...
Read moreMe and my partner have used the blue Bell for a while now, we have dined in for several amazing meals, the food has always been out of this world on every occasions, the staff are second to none....but with the covid we couldn't dine in on Christmas day...so we ordered a takeaway dinner from them instead.....im sorry but disappointment wasn't the word, the turnip was full of lumps, the potato was like slop, the gravy water like water, the turkey was just so dry, the veg was more like blanched than cooked....and to top it all off the dessert we got just wasn't what we ordered.....now I know that this specific inn really does go that extra mile for customers, they always make such an effort with everything and the food really is normally second to none...so you can understand my confusion when we are given a meal like we have.......I really do hope this is a one off mistake because I really do love the place, the food and the...
Read moreCame in for a Sunday dinner, as we heard good things about them and from the moment we stepped through the door we were welcomed by the lovely staff. We waited a little as our table was getting sorted as they were really busy. When we arrived there was 2 big parties in and only a handful of tables available. Luckily we booked ours couple of days in advance, after we sat down and we where greeted by a friendly waitress who took our drinks and food order, which drinks where severed promptly, the food was amazing, I've been before for a Sunday lunch but it was miles better. The meat was so succulent and not chewy so it went down so easy we ordered the leg of lamb, pork and a child's beef and the portion sizes where decent, we also ordered a side of pigs and blankets and cauliflower cheese. It was just so delicious, we really enjoyed it thanks to the chefs at bluebells we will...
