First time at the boars head. Lovely atmosphere and very clean. However after being shown to our table we asked for a few minutes to view the drinks menu, I think the staff forgot us as it was 30 minutes before I managed to get the attention of staff to take our order(drinks /food), she did apologise. The food was delicious can't fault a thing. We had the pork belly, thai chicken, beer battered fish, onion rings and garlic bread and brownie deserts, all of which was lovely. Unfortunately no one asked if we wanted a drinks refill and when our meal plates were taken away a desert menu wasn't offered, we thought the server my have been called away and would come back so we waited for him to come back. We thought the lad serving us was new and so we didn't say anything and just remained patient. He was very friendly and seemed very polite. About 20-25 minutes later we caught his attention and asked for the menu. Once we'd finished we had our bill and my partner paid in cash. On our way out it looked like the young lad serving us was being told off by the girl (more senior who showed us to our seats) about us paying in cash. Not sure if actually paying by cash was the issue as nothing was said to us. Hoping this wasn't the case as cash is our preferred payment and hate being forced into a cashless society. Would definitely go back as the food is worth it and all new staff have to start somewhere just a shame their wasn't more senior staff to check everything was being done but all the staff we spoke to were very welcoming and friendly. And just to add if you don't fancy any of their drinks they will happily mix a drink for you which they did for me a long island iced tea, which was perfect so thankyou x Bill came to just under £104 worth every pennie. My favourite out of the Paragon group we've been so far and we've...
Read moreSTUNNING!! Today I visited The Boars Head, near Nantwich for the first time. There was a great selection of menus to choose from but I'd already decided that I wanted a Sunday Roast, so ordered from the Sunday Dinner Menu.
I ordered the Chicken Supreme (with a side order of extra roast potatoes....as who doesn't love a good roast potato) and was expecting it to just be a traditional standard roast dinner but boy was I wrong. Everything about the meal was fantastic, from the presentation to the taste of each item on my plate. The chicken was succulent, the roast potatoes were crisped just the right amount and the vegetables were seasoned well and tasted great too. Sometimes I can be fussy with gravy and chicken still having the skin on but I wasn't phased at all, the skin was lovely and crisped to perfection and the homemade gravy was incredible, both were irresistible and I had no doubt in my mind that I had to devour everything on my plate.
The service was excellent and we weren't kept waiting in between courses. For dessert I chose the Lemon & Blueberry Cheesecake and wow I have no words to say other than it was stunning. The perfect end to an exceptional meal.
The staff were extremely polite, friendly and attentive to our needs. Even during Covid, I felt safe and the measures put in place by staff were followed extremely well, and it didn't affect my overall dining experience. I shall certainly be returning to the Boars...
Read moreOur server, Mitch, was great! His service was speedy yet attentive and his conducted himself well whist reflecting the paragon values. I had the calamari for starter which is amazing, the sweet chilli sauce has lots of flavour and the portion size is perfect! My partner had the Camembert which also looked delicious and was a good size. I then had the Chicken, Ham and Leek pie which was scrumptious! The short crust pastry was amazing and the pie itself was a huge piece! It came with chunky chips which are always lovely from The Boars Head. My partner had steak which was a generous portion served with chunky chips. He ordered if medium however we would say it seemed more medium/well but he enjoyed it non the less. We then shared a cookie dough for dessert, the cookie dough I feel should not be called 'dough' as it is more cake like in comparison to some other restaurants that serve cookie dough. This dessert also tasted a little burnt which I think is due to the ramekin it is served in being very hot. We also waited over 20 minutes for the dessert after being told it would be about a 10 minute wait. On arrival I was also saddened to learn that the menu has been adjusted to become more similar the standard paragon menu (found on the website), this meant the Pizza I had had at The Boars Head is no longer on the menu. I am in hope they will eventually bring the Pizza back. Overall another lovely experience at a...
