Poor pub near the @AvonandKennet #canal where we had a couple of fruit ciders before leaving as the bar staff were bantering with and serving the colourful characters that were the locals before anyone else....Also the female bar staff were unable to use or get the card payment machine to work so we had to use cash.which we had little of that day having used our cash for our 30th Wedding Anniversary Dinner @TheBargeInn just 200 metres away in the same village by the canal bridge...Not very good! What if we hadn't had cash? No cash machine probably within 10 miles! We would have been embarrassed and @TheBrewery would have lost out....!!!! Nice #Georgian Brewhouse though, which is a locally listed building, built from old ship timber shipped up the @AvonandKennet canal and The River Severn from @GloucesterDock and @Visit_Bristol. An ultimately disappointing visit to this potentially excellent pub and...
Read moreWe visited with friends for a Christmassy meal, our friends booked a pod, when we arrived we were very kindly welcomed by a lovely young lady, We got our drinks and went to the pod, it was beautifully decorated with twinkly lights and crackers, cosy blankets etc⌠The light was a heater which was perfect for this time of year, and we certainly didnât feel the cold. Our food was quickly delivered and we werenât forgotten at all, we were visited regularly by staff who were only too happy to cater for our every need. The food was delicious, we all really enjoyed ourselves. What a lovely place to visit, the Christmas display outside is great, thereâs a nice car park and all in a beautiful village. We will certainly be returning...

Strange as I would have drove past the pub as it looks a little unloved on the outside and in need of a bit of a spruce on the inside. There's a car park. The pub is not large and a bit old fashioned but ok in its own way. The staff were lovely and helpful and the food was really good...5* the pub is dog and child friendly so it's noisy 𤣠I would go back again but we were the only ones having the Christmas dinner so not really the right atmosphere for that but great for traditional pub food and the portions looked good on the other...
