No matter how busy the Bridgewater gets they always deliver. A 45 minute wait was cut down to 20 minutes and the food arrived and it looked good. The curry and the fish pie fish cake we ordered was tasty, hot and filling. The hotel is sometimes understaffed but they do work hard to make up for that.A great carpark,a good lounge with pool table, nice bar and a large restaurant, what more do you need.Oh yes there's also a good size hotel next door .

Several vegan options, starters and mains. I had the Trio of Indian Nibbles starter and Vegan Burger, both wonderful. Very friendly staff. Comfortable surroundings. Flat access from the car park, Blue Badge parking is fairly close to entrance. The accessible toilet is near the entrance, on the same level (other toilets up some steps). Dining tables accessed on the flat, or up some steps. We will definitely be going again.

Had a lovely visit to the pub and stayed in the Premier Inn also. We both had a gorgeous meal starter and main and the staff were so lovely and accommodating especially Joseph who waited on our table. Very friendly and makes the visit more memorable when happy staff. Food was delicious and atmosphere was great. It was a Sunday night so not too busy. This is our second visit here and we will certainly be returning again

We went there for Sunday lunch and the food was acceptable.

The service however, left a lot to be desired.

We ordered our starters and drinks and these arrived okay, but the toddler with us got the wrong order and it was cold. This was rectified as soon as we realised that the popcorn chicken was actually sausages.

The wait for the main course seemed interminable and, when it did finally arrive, my partner's Thai green curry was distinctly lacking the chicken he'd ordered. My roast dinner was cold and lacking in substance - although the pork was delicious!

They eventually cleared our plates and invited us to review the dessert menu. Some twenty minutes later I managed to collar the waiter and reminded him to bring the dessert menus

I wasn't that struck on dessert but we had thought to have Irish coffees only to be told they didn't serve them nor indeed any alcoholic coffees. A coke, two double baileys, a double brandy and a coffee (along with a dessert for each of my guests) was the order. The coke arrived, followed by the desserts in moderately short order.

I had to go back to the bar to ask about the remaining drinks. When they arrived, I was confused to see three alcoholic coffees in latte mugs (two made with Baileys and one with brandy). I repeated the order and the correct drinks finally arrived.

All in all, 3 hours were spent at table;most of that down to the sluggish service and poorly captured orders.

I didn't tip any cash but perhaps: staff training to repeat back orders, before committing them for service, counts as a...

Having previously eaten here on several occasions and always been pleased with the food i was really disappointed that the standard of food, service and the decor have deteriorated. Only 1 out of the 3 meats available for the Sunday roast , which continued to the rest of the menu with the odd one or two things not available. Food was ok but certainly not what you would expect for the price. The presentation was not brilliant either if you are charging that sort of money. Not all food arrived as per stated on menu. The biggest change we noticed was how shabby the pub looked - it used to be really nice and whilst we except that keeping it clean on a busy Sunday is difficult it really seemed dirty from lack of thorough cleaning like skirting boards and walls. ( no we are not OCD) but if that it was it looks like front of house we do not have much faith in the kitchen. Given all that the staff seemed very rushed off their feet but again this made service both at the bar and table very slow - we did have to wait quite along time. Don't want to be picky either but i know this will sound that way. Although staff very polite there is just a few things that are not acceptable, like answering the phone whilst you are paying for the bill and then not even saying goodbye. Surely you just let the phone ring and deal with the person you are talking to face to face! Sorry Bridgwater Arms I know you are all probably working hard but I doubt we will bother to drive out of town to dine...

The food here was really good. We were a party of 6, 2 of which were children and everyone loved their food. My husband is coeliac and requires gluten free food; he said they had a good gluten free menu and he really enjoyed what he ordered. It was busy so it took a while to get our dinner but that was understandable given it was peak time for dinner and the waitress did warn us it would be a bit of a wait. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is because when a woman came to ear our table after we had eaten we said we wanted to order some puddings; 15 min later no one had come to take our order so I had to get someone from the bar. The manager came immediately and took the order; my brother-in-law ordered a coffee instead of a pudding but when they brought the puddings they didn't bring his coffee. Another 5-7 min passed before we were able to get someone's attention and ask for the coffee. At that point they finally made his coffee and brought it over a couple of min later. The experience with the puddings and coffee did put a damper on an overall very enjoyable experience but I don't think it will stop us from going back. All of the food was great and the setting was lovely. My sister-in-law did note at the end that the ladies' toilet was less than clean and one of the stalls completely out of toilet paper. She didn't like that very much and I wouldn't have either. But like I said, the food was good and the people serving us were...
