Very quiet here this morning, could be a reflection of their recent price increases. I thought £3.50 for an Americano was steep, but today they charged me £3.80 which is a joke. Won’t be going back. Hillbrush have upgraded their EV parking bays with newly installed PodPoints. Was reasonable cost @49p per kWh with free parking, but now increased to 55p Great place to eat, although not cheap, but a high standard throughout*. Breakfast menu served until 11:30am Unfortunately quality of Eggs Benedict today was disappointing - time to move on And there is plenty of history of brush production in the Visitors Centre

A real surprise find while looking for an EV charging point, they have a free Type 2 7kWh post just by the visitor centre entrance. It's really interesting to see a great British manufacturer celebrating its history. The museum tells of the story of brush making right up to the present day. Interesting interpretation which will keep the kids entertained while the grown-ups enjoy a coffee. The café serves a great selection of home made dishes and when we visited it was a popular lunchtime venue. Thoroughly recommended especially for EV drivers off the beaten track.

Stopped off with two small kids for a break. Pleasantly surprised with how nice it is. Great little museum for kids to stretch legs, excellent service and facilities. Food is quite expensive although kids menu is very reasonable but didn’t try it so can’t comment. Good for a rainy day pit stop, right next to the A303. Good gift shop.

I’ve ordered a latte and was brought over to the table. Cold! So couldn’t drink it. Waitress not as pleasant. Same as last week! This time, she went out of her way to add a bit more. Roughly from 10 feet away she mattered: “I’ve spilled it! I’ll get a napkin”. She walked the 30 + 30 yards, brought the napkins and almost threw them on the table. No apology. She could have changed the cup and saucer to correct the issue. The coffee was cold and undrinkable. I caught her attention and said I couldn’t drink it. She said she would make another one. No apology. Another waitress brought the second coffee and again no apology. The second coffee was ok and I began to relax after that. I couldn’t help, after all this, to keep checking on the manner of the staff serving the very few customers. It’s either the luck the training in such an environment as the “brush and broom “ or is personal of those individuals. Whatever the case, broom and brush deserve better. I give two star for the atmosphere. The rest deserves none for how I was made to feel. I live locally and I was checking the place to treat my son and his wife on their visits. I’m...

On Wed 19 Feb I ordered an English breakfast. The Cumberland sausage, mushroom and sourdough bread were all excellent. But the bacon was terrible; it was dry and hard. I suspected that it had been cooked the day before and reheated. It was so hard that I woke the next morning with aching teeth! I love soft succulent freshly-cooked bacon with my breakfast, not something resembling dry cardboard. I think your staff need to ask customers whether they would like their bacon 'succulent' or 'crispy' - a euphemism of course. That aside, the experience was excellent, clean, good mood lighting and pleasant staff. Why have I waited so long to post this? Well I did post my feedback on their website but have not had the courtesy of a reply. Then yesterday I met someone who told me that they would not eat there because their bacon was so dry. So time...

Thought we would pop in for quick coffee and cake thought just sit near the front. No wait to be ordered where to sit follow me seated at the back. Given menu's server walks away look at menu no cakes on there. No server so I walk to front to see the selection of cakes. After sometime a different server asks us are you being served? It feels as if there's some unrequired organization plans for staff. We were served by three people. Coffee was weak coffee and walnut cake was moist but there was half a walnut just on the top. The most expensive place i think I've been. Not much to eat for a normal light lunch. Disgustingly expensive. The service is wooden. The coffee is honest coffee. The most novel bit was the music playing in the ladies. £3 for a sheet of paper and £4.20 for box of matches....
