The Café at Peacocks — Restaurant in England

Extremely disorganised. 1 person on the till working so hard taking payments, making coffee and slicing cakes while the rest seems to muddle around and collectively achieve nothing. Nobody seemed to be organising the kitchen. Tickets were just dumped on the counter and everyone would walk up randomly and poke them around. At one point 5 people were standing looking at tickets! Others were walking back and forth with packed sandwiches like they didn't know what to do with them. Queue was building up the whole time. Food was mediocre at best. Why a jacket potato costs more than pie and chips I'll never know. One of the staff wandered off with my food and nobody knew where they had gone! Total...

Highly disappointed as I was discriminated because of my ethnicity.

Second time card machine broken and today just as I was a few people away from being served , the card machine broke again . The group in front of me who were all white got served , despite the card machine broken and were told to pay later.

I am a regular here who has lunch almost every other day in the week . Despite asking them if I could make a bank transfer for the cost of my always regular meal of £8.45, I was said a strict NO and was discriminated being an Indian .

I’m totally shocked by their behaviour and attitude . Really wish I had the opportunity to talk to the Manager who I’m sure would have...

This cafe is of the highest standard in my opinion. Service is always with a smile and Lisa our server is always very friendly and helpful when we visit. The food is tasty and well cooked, the fish and chips are the best in the area and the curry is superb. The Chef is not stingy with the portions either, there's always plenty on the plate. The seating area is large and clean with views over the downstairs sale rooms on one side and the large car park on the other. Prices have increased slightly but the quality justifies it I think.
