I can't comment on the food as we didn't stay long enough to sample it. This place has a horrible atmosphere, my daughter who's 4 climbed up on one of the leather seats (I do appreciate that there should be no shoes on sofas etc) but within seconds the gentleman came across to say no shoes! And to be fair her feet were hanging off so not really touching anything. The older woman pounced on us as we got through the door, and asked if we were staying for coffee or lunch, you could clearly see we were not the type to be in there. My wife said that she was going to get our wallets from the car and the older woman treated us like we were planning to steel the things we ordered and that she didn't trust us. We walked out. Very Nobby and posh and not child friendly. I'm guessing the feedback will be something along the lines of we appreciate your feedback...
Read moreIdeal for cycling groups, recently taken over by a very keen cyclist.
Rich from Timsbury Cycle Group took us on a group ride here, and we had fantastic coffee and cakes. Stourhead is not far at all - we'd just come from there. There are some nice touches in the cafe, cycling posters, artworks, and cycle-themed placemats, plus a huge map of Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset so we could see where we'd just come from! Thanks very much for having us! Will definitely be back.
Top tip if visiting - just be aware that you might not be able to "see" your bike from inside the cafe if it's parked outside so be careful with its security, we had a few very light locks with us. Or park it up in the 50-11 gear so no-one can easily ride...

We popped in for a coffee and croissant my children were good as gold and we were still made to feel SO uncomfortable and unwelcome I really wished we had just left when one of the ladies working there very aggressively asked my daughter to get her shoes off the chair! (Her shoes weren’t actually touching the chair) she was just trying to smile and say hello to the workers behind the counter. The ladies behind the counter continued to look over and laugh! What it that about?! I’m still shell shocked that in 2025 people still think they are above others. Just cause we might not look like the “usual regulars”. The gentleman was friendly in...
