Myself and my friend popped in for a bite to eat the other day. I have never been to this public house before, so it was a new experience for me. We sat down and looked at the menu. I am very impressed that they do a gluten-free menu as not many places consider people with dietary preferences. I ordered the fish and chip with battered sausage, curry sauce, peas, and a side of bread and butter platter as did, my friend. The young man servicing was very polite and well-informed. The manager Scott was lovely polite and couldn't do enough for us, too. The eating area was very clean and tidy and quite busy considering it was Friday evening. The food was hot and very tasty and we didn't need to wait too long for it to arrive. Reasonable prices, great atmosphere, clean, excellent customer service. I also had a small dessert from the kids' menu. Just ice cream, which was served with a strawberry sauce. The ice cream was a little grainy for me, but nice. There is a seniors menu too. On the whole, well worth going in and checking it out for yourselves. I will be recommending this to my friends, too. A refurbishment is on the cards, so I can't wait to go back and see what's new.

I went in for breakfast this morning and was met with smiley staff! Ordered the traditional breakfast for only £7 which is a fantastic price. The new breakfast chef Claire is an absolute credit to Coopers!! Such a filling and tasty breakfast- don’t give this a miss!! ❤️ (my hot chocolate was also really tasty- and full to the brim!!😁)

Just moved into the area and this will be my local bar. I'm well happy with that and will enjoy popping in regularly and getting to know the staff and customers. Dinner was beautiful the other night and the pub is well kept. Will definitely frequent it regularly over the next many years.

We waited over an hour for food and then when it came some meals were so over cooked it was almost impossible to eat and other meals were arriving 30 mins after other peoples and some people waited an hour for their desert and food was also coming up cold and then 30 mins later the hot chips appeared. Attitude of staff was also very poor. It is so disappointing because we used to enjoy going here but now food and service are well below standard. I appreciate that it can be difficult with large groups but if you have ineffective equipment t you need to take certain items off the menu so that customers are not frustrated and disappointed. In response to below: We have attended this pub for years and used to enjoy the meals and the service and atmosphere but sadly this is no longer the same. And in response to the comment no one complained about their food at the time I DID. I said the chips were very cold and asked for them to be replaced I had a very hostile response and was told they would be. Then two minutes later I was told that they were now in the que to be done and they finally came up 30 minutes after my fish had been eat. But I must admit they were lovely and hot that time. Also we have never been asked to pre order which would be easy to do. Anyway I hope the group do get a better service next time they go and I will ask them if they wish to go again...

Poor knowledge on gluten containing foods and poor gluten free options.

Not the same as what it used to be under the old management. Used to also have great knowledge and was extremely accommodating.

Now, it's completely different.

Update: I would love to speak to you regarding this but don't see what impact this would have if I spoke to the same person as before. I was told that my dad would be able to have a steak dinner at Christmas (glutenfree) but not the turkey dinner as they don't know whether the turkey has gluten in it or not. I have been advised there is a new manager who when I spoke to advised they didn't make the menu so couldn't comment on what has gluten and what doesn't. Please let me know an email address I can contact to better help improve staff knowledge...
