Driving back from Kilve and dropped in, thought we'd give it a go as we've seen good reviews and I know the owner is nice. However, we went in (beautiful pub) got our drinks and I asked if we can put it on a tab, she was very nervous about this but said yes then seated us right in front of the bar so she could keep an eye on us. She had assumed we'd run away at this point. Because we are young and I guess we have tattoos. So we are looking at the menu, of which is extremely overpriced for the food amount and quality we order. I ordered the penne pasta, which is £12 and my friend ordered the meat with crackling etc £11. The crackling wasn't off of the meat and the potatoes were solid in the middle. My food tastes like a damp kitched tea towel and during all of this, the woman behind the bar kept staring at us and watching us. I wanted a cigarette and felt the need to make sure one of the younger waitresses knew that that's all we were doing and then we came in and paid. I didn't expect to be treated like a criminal and eat that sort of quality of food in a place like this, especially at that price. I'm sorry but I don't think I'd...
Read moreFirst time visiting The Cottage Inn in Keenthorne and it won’t be my last.
Extremely welcoming and friendly staff right from the get go who were constantly making sure everyone was well taken care of…I honestly do not possess the superlatives to do justice to the excellent Customer Care the Team were providing.
The food is superb. Simply superb. It’s not pretentious or trying too hard; It’s good, honest food, cooked with Love and Respect and that really comes through in the dishes…Sadly, I did not take any images as I was somewhat overly excited to get the Venison into my face (Excellent Venison btw).
A great range of booze free drinkettes for those of us that don’t inhale the ol’ Senior Tizer and a full and wide range of Senior Tizer libations for those that do.
And they’re Doggo Friendly, too👍🏽
Thank You to the Team at The Cottage for this evenings...
Read moreHaven’t been to the cottage for years. Heard it had new ownership and good things about the food. Gran lives nearby so we rang up on a Sunday for a chance of food. They happily squeezed us in. Greeted with a smile and our table was in the Snug. Ace country music playing in the background with windows and doors open to keep the space cool in the heatwave.
Ordered the cottage roast platter desperate for a good roast, now living in Scotland and they don’t do it like what its done here.
Fantastic! One of the best roasts I have ever had! Roast potatoes, stuffing and meat was brilliant. Yorkies and gravy were out of this world. Absolutely one of the best roasts anywhere so please stop by on a Sunday and try it, you won’t be let down.
What a great turn around from years gone by and definitely a great food spot! Will be back for sure when I am down visiting...
