We were in the area and decised to eat out. Despite having been told there was a 40-minute wait, we ordered the fish and xhips and double gammon, egg and chips. One word - faultless! The gammon was a great cut and cooked to perfection. The grilled tomato was nicely grilled and the eggs were cooked to perfection! Good quality too with a fab yolk and a lovely white outer. The peas were flavoursome and it was nice to have a brand new and unopeen mayonnaise to accompany my meal. Truly cannot fault this meal. Excellent value for money. The fish was cooked perfectly and the batter was of good quality. The plate and the food was hot and fresh. I'd asked for extra tartare sauce and they delivered to perfection! It's a run down pub littered on the outside with an array of empty glasses and broken furniture but the food is brilliant! Great value for money. It's clearly very popular with the locals who enjoy a drink, a lot of noise and constant sport channels. Would benefit from a jet wash (mossy and slippy slabs), a lot of tlc and some handles on the windows but (and I repeat) thank goodness for the food because it was excellent and well deserved after a busy week at work! Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. Highly recommend. Just maybe don't go on a Friday night!? 🤣 Thank you.

Went for Sunday roast with my parents. Has a good selection of food at a very good price. The pub feels a bit run down however everyone was really friendly and accommodating to my Mum who is in a wheel chair. They also have a lot of TVs if you like sport. The beef was on the well done in terms of cooking but nice. I really liked the roast potatoes which were crispy. Also the Cauliflower cheese and broccoli were good. The Brussel sprouts were a bit soft for my liking. So based on price and quality I would push to a 4.

Stopped here for food, wish I didn't bother now, ended up waiting over 2 hours for chicken wings, onion rings and the smallest portion of mac & cheese even though hardly anyone was eating, tables was sticky, menus was filthy and in this current situation you'd think a little more attention would be used in keeping things clean

Fantastic little treasure of a place that I discovered today . Took my daughters and their friend for a birthday dinner , there was a printed A4 sheet on our table saying g who it was reserved for - nice touch šŸ‘Œ. When I explained to our server/barperson Sophie that I wanted dinner followed by the cake I’d provided brought out with provided lit candles after plates had been cleared , nothing was too much trouble for her , they even brought out plates , a sharp knife and the original cake box for leftovers , really thoughtful , cos I hadn’t mentioned any of that . The food was what you’d expect in a pub/diner in terms of choice , but all of it was damn tasty and well cooked and presented . The toilets were clean and up to date , there’s a local but welcoming vibe in the place . It was mainly families and more mature folk and that suited me fine . The number one recommendation though is for the super friendly and hard working staff . Loved my visit and I’ll...

Absolutely appalled , we booked a table for fathers day for 7 of us to eat we arrived at 12pm out table was booked for 12.15 to be treated with locked doors and other familys waiting outside. At 12.30 a chef come out to tell us that he is waiting for someone to open up the oub and should be open in 10 mins. 1pm comes still sat outside with a hungry 8 month old and 4 yearold. Wanting their dinner. As we had waited over an hour we decide to try other places being fathers day everywhere was fully booked. My mum then emailed the pub to be given a half hearted apology and it was beyond your control im sorry but that is unacceptable customer service was appalling. So thankyou very much for ruining our father's day we are gutted we come here most Sundays for a roast and enjoy them but after this I highly doubt we...
