It's good here and always busy we have just had a prawn salad each with salt and pepper chips to share it was really nice and lots of prawns. It's been good every time we have been so far ............. Really nice, called on a Wednesday dinner time and it was quite busy which is a good sign. Ordered sandwiches and soup with a side of chips all of it was really nice. I don't like door stop size sandwiches which these were but the bread was that soft it was gorgeous. Good service and nice surroundings really good. Two sandwich meals one soup four coffees and chips ยฃ24. Also one side of the pub is dog friendly

After having this lovely pub recommended to me by my hotel, I travelled that tiny bit further to try it out. I was not to be disappointed! One large burger, fab salt n pepper chips and some onions rings later (washed down with a lovely light pale ale), I can say it hit the mark and then some! Great friendly service and very reasonable in price, zero complaints here. I'm glad I didn't have a starter as at this time day, I'd not have been able to eat it all which would have been a right waste! Definitely going to visit again, probably walk out of town as it's pleasant walk when the weather is nice!

By far one of the best pubs I've been too and I'm ashamed to say the first time I've ever been although I've lived in the town all my life! Food is top notch, it makes others around Barrow look 2nd rate. Staff are beyond 5* ... kind, helpful and nothing is too much! Went out of their way to make my son smile and enjoy his visit. Clean....tidy.....fantastic surroundings, nice beer garden... Thank you for a brilliant lunch time ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ™Œ I'd recommend to anyone!

Food, once received, was very tasty but the serving of it was atrocious. We were asked to pre-order which I did the day prior to our visit. The order I gave was repeated correctly back to me over the phone so the breakdown in the serving of the food obviously lays within their kitchen. 2 steaks ordered, both had no chips served with them. Waited 10 mins for one portion and 20 minutes for the other to arrive, by which time, my son had eaten his steak. No apology whatsoever was given for the horrendous delay and error on their part. Never even offered to take my son's plate away to keep his food warm until the chips were prepared. He ate all his chips on their own. I received my stir fry dish 5-10 minutes after having my chips and rice placed in front of me. Ordered 3 hot baguette dishes - 1 chicken and 2 beef baguettes but tried to serve 3 chicken baguettes so there was another waiting period while they prepared 2 beef baguettes. Ordering the day prior to arrival was a complete and utter waste of time. One person in our party ordered a desert for which the long wait of its delivery added to the already unsatisfactory service. On a prior visit last year my husband had no chips served with his steak but we thought that was just unfortunate but to have it happen twice just isn't good. Why are complete meals not served at the same time? ie. Bring the steak out on the plate and the cone of chips - AT THE SAME TIME. Added to this the musician was playing but was far too loud so we could not have a conversation without having to shout across the table. Hope my honest comments are received constructively to improve the service given to customers so they will be happy to return to the Crown again. I, unfortunately, don't feel that way which is a shame as the food is good when you finally have it served to you. Wouldn't have made things right but just one solitary apology for the multitude of errors would have been...

A lunch for two I enquired for a Friday afternoon, the time I wanted was busy and the time they offered was too late. I asked if there was anything he could do to fit us in earlier, I would be grateful. The gentleman did.

Service was amazing, gentleman called Martin escorted us to our table and after sitting asked for a drinks order. I know my guest can be particularly precise when she orders a drink & I was chewing nails, looking at things on the wall, needed the toilet - you know when you are uncomfortable?

Martin engaged perfectly! I was shocked but pleased.

My guest said she knew he liked coffee because he asked exactly the right things so I got what I wanted.

She had arrived from Vienna and needed a good coffee after the drive from Manchester Airport.

No starters ordered, Scampi for her, what I thought was a fillet steak but turned out to be a rump.

Chips were amazing, but nothing like the onion rings.

Onion rings should have their own page on the menu.

Battered, crunchy and ready for you to wire in!

Scampi was perfect, my steak had an amazing taste, however over cooked. I had to find bits I could eat.

That never spoiled my experience, after eating half of the steak - I was back on the chips.

Feedback was welcomed, I like that, we didn't have time to complain & spoil a good afternoon.

I would definitely return, this time order & spend a little more time concentrating on what I have ordered.

Lovely pub food, nice part of Walney Island. Inside beautifully decorated.

Gents toilet was impeccable - another good sign.

Go, enjoy & get 3 courses, you'll be glad you did, plus the pudding menu...

We pre-booked a table specifically in the back room for 6 people at 2pm. We arrived at 1.58pm to be told that the table wasn't ready . Not great but not a huge problem but who knows how long we would have waited? However to be told that the table we were to be placed on was in the front area which is extremely noisy and close to the bar, was a problem. We had 2 young children and an older person with hearing difficulties, hence why we pre-booked the back room. When this was questioned, to then be told by the waitress, "Well there's nothing I can do about it " was simply unacceptable. Its not as though we had just walked in off the street. We had pre-booked with specific requirements and they accepted this booking! Customer service at its worst on all accounts. Custom lost for today and any future business from a...
