Disappointed with the menu selection, which consisted predominantly of chips with everything. My wife and I chose sirloin steaks to be grilled medium and medium rare. Sadly they arrived cooked well done and medium. The so called handcut chips were not at all attractive. The steaks themselves were very tender and would have been enjoyable had they been prepared correctly. Two other Dutch ladies were also disappointed with their choices. The variety of menu needs to be enhanced as not all customers wish to eat chips every night, and with the vast selection of food these days when pasta, rice, & noodles to mention but a few. The young lady serving was very good and deserves praise for the amount of work that got through, even making time to set my wife's mobile onto your WiFi connection. We therefore did not visit you the second night of our stay and ate at the George Hotel where there was a much wider choice of menu, admittedly slightly more expensive but worth it...

Visited The Crown on Sunday 12th August, having just arrived for a few days away in Barrasford. The Crown had the nicest reviews of pubs within an afternoon stroll. It was a beautiful sunny day and after a long walk beside the river The Crown was a very welcome sight. Such a quirky, genuine village pub. The bar staff were really friendly and we made our way past the vintage scooter table into the beautiful beer garden. Such a gorgeous, sun spot with ample tables both in the shade and sun. We were only planning on a couple of drinks, but the food looked so tasty we decided to order. We had hunters chicken and sirloin steak. Both dishes were really tasty and good sized portions. The beer, (Graingers Ale), and cider (Appleshed) were refreshing and we sat enjoying them and the atmosphere for a couple of hours. The locals were really friendly and chatted to us, offering advice on what to see on the area. We would definitely...

We were trying to find a gluten free place to eat enroute to Kielder Observatory and most places were either expensive, closed or did not cater for gluten free.

We were a 20 minute walk from the Crown Inn and decided to give it a try on seeing Google reviews. What a find! And on the doorstep of our local accommodation.

Lot's of choice for gluten free and vegan and the best steak and ale pie my partner has ever had. The food was just top notch. We loved it so much we went back the next day.

It was a great local pub, friendly and chatty staff, good selection of ales (Inc gluten free ones), and the prices were set perfectly. We just loved it there.

It was also really great to see it as a hub of the local community and with people chatting and being social, not on...

We always seek out the best Sunday roast we can find when in England and this time it was the Crown Inn which satisfied our craving. There was nothing not to love. Everything was great- staff were efficient and pleasant, the atmosphere low-key and welcoming, and the food-fantastic! We split a sticky toffee pudding with ice cream afterwards and could not have been happier! During busy hours it may be a good idea to call and book a table. Fun fact about this place that the owner is a sports car aficionado and there are a lot of very cool car photos and memorabilia.

It's a hidden gem and an award winning pub! You've got to step inside to appreciate it so I'll not give much away here. Quirky lovely decor that made us really smile especially when you walk through the red 'telephone box style' door! Little details like reading glasses provided, if you've forgotten yours and need help reading the menu. 😀 Real roses on the tables! Good tasty food, affordable price, prompt service, friendly staff...it was a really nice experience. Only downside is limited parking spaces which may be difficult when busy.
