My friend and I recently came to this pub and we ordered a starter and a main. The starters were perfect and couldnāt fault them. We both ordered the ham, egg and chips for main. Almost 24 hours later we both still feel sick. We explained to the waiter who served us that our ham was slimy, fatty, green and appeared raw. We asked for a plate to disregard the ham so we could at least eat our small portion of egg and chips. We then went to pay and Ā£6 was taken off our whole bill. We called the owner on our way home as we felt this didnāt sit right. Spending Ā£11.95 each for a few chips and egg is unacceptable as well as leaving hungry and sick. She said we could go back for another Ā£6 refund. Owning your own business and treating your customers like this is unacceptable. Especially the looks and atmosphere the owner and staff created for us when we came to have a nice meal. The quality of your food is your fault, not ours. I would advise never to go into this pub for food as they are clueless about food standards, chill chain, basic hygiene and customer service. We observed a raw piece of pork was sat in the kitchen for at least half an hour on a hot sunny day. If you want to play Russian roulette and waste Ā£60 on something that will not get refunded when I wouldnāt even feed it to my dogs, here is the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was genuinely one of the biggest mistakes I have made when booking a restaurant. The website depicts an inviting restaurant and good food, however, upon arrival we walked into a full room and greeted by locals who all stopped what they were doing to stare at us, as though we had interrupted their pints which made for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. Nobody had a meal at their table which concerned us. We decided to go through to the smaller side of the pub (it's not a restaurant) and sat at the only decent looking table next to a couple watching the rugby on the big screen TV on the wall (never something to get excited about in a so called restaurant). We were handed a laminated menu with nothing to get excited by as the food on offer was very mixed up and disjointed, which can range from sandwiches to curry, and when asked what we wanted for drinks there was a very limited offer on standard lagers and beer. I had a Corona which was warm (no lime available). Our daughter had a lemonade which she didn't finish as that was also warm. The whole look was like an outdated 80's pub with fruit machines in the eating area which is confusing. The website states it has been refurbished?? We decided then and there to call a taxi and leave without eating, no doubt we will refrain from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible. Walked in, no greeting, bar smells of cigarettes and there was a big dog which we had to climb over and there was no word spoken to us. Had to walk through to see if there is some seating area as we wanted to have a meal for a special occasion. Nobody outside either. Had to walk back into the bar and ask the person behind the bar for some service but i was told that the kitchen is long closed and half laughed off as if my request to have a meal was absurd on a Sunday afternoon. Sign outside says "food served all day" so this is why I assumed that it would be possible to have a meal. Massive advertising outside on this place and I pass it regularly and thought to give it a go as the reviews didn't look too bad. But unfortunately I was mistaken. If the kitchen is closed, don't advertise that you're serving food. Also, not being acknowledged upon entry really puts me off as I have been in the professional hospitality sector for over 10 years and wanting basic service is apparently too much to ask for at...
