Popped in just before closing on New Year's day, but they were happy to serve us. It was a reduced menu due to the bank holiday, so we went for homemade soup and cakes with hot chocolate. Just what we needed after a long walk. The place was quite busy when we arrived, and they have a small inside and outside seating area. According to the notice on the wall, they are looking to build a much larger cafe in an American theme.

We absolutely love the Dandy Highwayman! We visit weekly and Mark and his team are fab! Always super welcoming to us and our little daughter. Food and coffee is always amazing, lots of choice and great for takeaways if going for a walk! Also, the outside area in warmer weather is lovely ☀️ Thanks again, and we will of course be back soon :)

This place has managed to import the worst of American tipping culture into the heart of Wiltshire. While paying and waiting to take your drink away you’re directed to look at the display on the card machine that prompts you to leave a tip and suggests various amounts, all before you’ve even tried their produce. The process of not leaving a tip for collecting your coffee and taking it to the table yourself is distasteful and ruins the experience. This begging tipping culture is ruining the experience of eating out in America and needs to be resisted here. Just pay a reasonable wage and leave the tipping as discretionary and after the customer has tried your produce and experienced...

Last Friday I called into the cafe with my 3 children. We found a table & took our coats off. When I came up to the counter to order, I was told it’s takeaway drinks only as you close at 3pm. This was at 2.45pm. We only wanted a drink & a cake & there were a number of customers that had full plates of food & drinks. We would have been finished before most of them. A member of staff saw us enter but waited until we were seated to tell us. Maybe if you want to vacate by 3pm, you should close at 2.30pm and then allow customers to finish their food/drinks. This would seem to be standard practice at most cafes in my experience. My 3 children were very...

Wow what a place as I pulled up…. Was very quickly disappointed! 4 adults and a child so not a hard order to complete! To start with the guy on the till was away with the fairy’s, when the order finally came out it took 20 mins between the first and last item to come! They completely forgot about the childs baconsandwich and two of the drinks… the bacon and Brie baguette was cold bacon cold Brie and the lettuce I think had been out all day completely dry and wilted! The other sandwiches weren’t much better the bread was stale and I can only presume they ran out of fillings halfway through...
