Perfect place for our family meet-up at lunchtime earlier today. A cosy table near the wood-burning fire, (our dog loved it and dozed during the unhurried meal!). A nice view through the window, with a little snow still lying on the car park. Set back from the road, the pub doesn't get much traffic noise. Our young waiter was cheerful, efficient and professional, without being cocky, shy or sullen like some you meet elsewhere. The full range of menus, lunchtime, evening and several specials were available, and there was no quibble about some of our party ordering alternative accompaniments to the meals. Chef visited us to check all was well. We were well looked after, without being pestered. Other places don't always get this right. When we came to pay, splitting the bill between two cards wasn't a problem. A genuinely relaxing experience, which we plan to...

Popped in here last night to try it out with two families after a day at the Severn Valley Country Park. They were very accomodating to get us in and weren't serving food until half 5 with a big party at 6. Food was pretty tasty, we had a couple of steak and Guinness pies, prob could be a slightly bigger portion but tasty. The ladies had a vegan shepherd's pie and that was very tasty. My only gripe was the kids meal prices. 7.50 for hot dog and chips was extortionate! The website states 5.50 and that's with dessert. We did mention this and the waitress went and got one ice cream.... Between 3 kids 🤣 Covid had been thought about but I didn't really see much of this going on, ie no masks, no screens and one pen and a notebook full of numbers. All in all, it was OK just a tad pricey. The kids enjoyed the elephant in...

Out for birthday lunch, 5 adults, 2 children on a weekday. Service was appalling, treated with disdain and any requests were met with a negative attitude. Children's meals came without veg whuch was on menu, when asked to provide was told 'it wasn't on the ticket'. This response continued for everything we asked for. Salad to replace a carb accompaniment was barely worth eating, few lettuce leaves, half a tomato, 3 tiny pieces of onion. Ploughman's was a huge let down. Food tasted ok, but would not return based on miserable staff, who complained about how busy they were. Made to feel like an inconvenience, not a valued customer. Such a shame, as the setting and buildings are...

We have been passing this pub for years, always wanted to drop in. It never had the time. We finally made our first visit. This is a loverly little historic pub with plenty of quirky character. All the customers appeared to be regulars which is always reassuring to see. I think, what made this pub for me is seeing the cheese and onion cobs on the bar which I haven’t seen since my junior days. In addition there was pork pie, scotch egg and a choice of other cob fillings. Staff are very friendly and engaging and demonstrated a loyalty to customers. This is a loverly pub which I definitely recommend and will revisit.

I enjoyed the meal and the staff here. Only knocked off a star as my burger bun was kinda burnt and dry, there was also no sauce like mayonnaise or anything on the burger itself besides a pattie, cheese and veg. I recommend asking customers if they'd like anything put on their burger as I was disappointed mine was so dry with sauce but other than that everything was good. The staff was very accommodating and kind the place was cosy. Will be back! Delicious onion rings too.

A nice little pub located just outside Bridgnorth on the A442. On Wednesday night they have a biker meat, you can have cobs, hot dog, bees burger. It's nice to see all the motorcycles. As a pub it's nicely located and has a good atmosphere I didn't explore the menu but I'm sure it would be very nice. There is outdoor seating and because it's sunk back from the road there's no traffic to disturb you.
