We found this place online. It's tucked away and it was such a find!
We both had the cream tea. I had the gluten free scones, he had the regular ones. They all came still warm and were lovely. Even the gluten free ones were lush! If you are gluten free, you'll know that bread products are not the best but these ones were soft and light and fluffy. Not made on site but still lovely. The regular ones are made on site and were also soft and light and fluffy. A fruit scone option would have been his choice, though.
Plenty jam and cream for the portion of scone. Jam was very fruity, full of flavour.

The cream tea was outstanding. The scones were delicious, and the jam and cream (in that order obviously) topped it off! The tea pot was huge, as was the kid sized hot chocolate!
Service was friendly and welcoming, even when busy with the steady stream of customers.
On a wet weekday, outside of the peak holiday season, the restaurant was busy over the lunch period, so I’d suggest making a booking if possible.

Read moreI have been here 4 times in the last month. Once for just a coffee on my own, then a cream tea, followed by an afternoon tea with a friend from Oz and then for tea and cake last week. On all occasions we were greeted with a smile and friendliness. The cream tea was lovely with delicious scones and homemade jam. The afternoon tea at £15/l.p. was delightful with finger sandwiches, savoury scones, scones, cream, jam, cheesecake in a shot glass, brownies etc. We had to have a doggie box to take home what we could not finish!
