Wow what can I say, I've never had to write such a bad review and it's worth saying I've even messaged them nearly a week ago to see if they wished to address my issues and had no response.

It was a very hot day to set the scene they had about 6 tables with people so it was fairly busy but not crazy.

So it started with myself and my partner having waited 15mins to get someone's attention to just order drinks, after drinks and then food was finally ordered the starters turned up and mine was missing the jalapeño crisps on top and I assumed its because my partner is gluten free that they'd left them off both dishes when asking the question the response was "oh they must of forgotten" then our main courses arrived 1hr 15mins later, my partner had the lamb and it looked and tasted great.

I ordered the falcon burger it was missing the cheese was pretty dry and over all far from great. I ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms they were over cooked (burnt) and I wasn't a fan of the triple cooked chips.

So drink wise I was on pints of soda water and blackcurrant and my partner was drinking soda water and lime. 2 pints each we had and thank God as when we finally got the bill which I had to go and chase we'd been charged £3.80 per pint!!

I understand it was a hot day but bar the girl bringing out the drinks the others were miserable.

Overall a pretty poor visit to what on the face of things should of been an amazing experience.

I shall not be returning any time soon and I'd warn others to consider the...

The chef was awesome and he exceeded expectations with the food. Five stars quality food. Our guests were happy. However, regarding customer service and service delivery received from the Assistant manager Jen was disappointing and awful.

The Falcon Inn is an old pub with character situated in a quiet village. The O was chosen as the perfect venue for our celebration. Unfortunately the Assistant manager 'Jen' turned it into one of the worst days I could not have imagined. From taking my nonrefundable deposit and misselling the service they could provide for my special day. I was promised music for my 20 guests upon arrival. There was none, no apology or willingness from Jen to resolve. The entertainers for my kids and guests were told they were too loud, disrupting the pub customers. She blamed the wifi connectivity issue on my guests. The night before I came to setup. She assured me help would be provided, by herself or staff. Not the case. We tested the speakers and connected to the wifi fine. Even moved the speakers from the kitchen to the event room and it worked fine. On the day nothing worked and Jen blamed it on us.

Would I go back, for the food yes. To see...

As locals, we have eaten at The Falcon many a time over the years mainly, but not always, being perfectly happy with the food and service. However, our last visit was a real disappointment. Usually the bar and restaurant are busy and the atmosphere convivial, especially on a Friday, but when we arrived, apart from a large noisy family do in the conservatory (we decided to eat in the bar) there were only a couple of other tables occupied. By 8.30pm all the tables apart from one other and the bar itself were completely empty so the whole place was eerily quiet. Given this and that there were only three of us (7pm arrival) the service was iffy (very slow to even bring us the menus, ordering water which never arrived etc) but most importantly, the meal itself was generally underwhelming. I asked if I could have the duck well cooked - no, only as it comes, pink; the beef dish (pretentiously called Pecanha which on questioning, the waitress described as a hunk of cow!) could only be served medium rare. What we did order in the end was generally uninspiring. There are plenty of other good restaurants in the area so I’m afraid we wont be in any hurry to return...

We visited this weekend, with family. What a thriving place - it was really busy, and had a good atmosphere. We had chance to have a drink in the bar, near the fire - before we were seated for our dinner. We were seated in the conservatory area. The decor was really good, with some interesting decorations dotted all around - with a nice view into the garden. There was a good selection of meals to choose from. I would have loved to have had a selection of some of the bar snacks, as the sausage roll and scotch egg sounded fantastic. Most of our group ordered pie, I chose the lamb roast. Everyone was pleased with their choices. Everything was very tasty - especially the cauliflower cheese. The only very tiny criticism is that I'd have liked just a little more lamb. The cheese board was really good - with a decent amount of cheese, and crackers to go with it. The service was spot on - and the owner was really lovely. We will definitely return, especially for the Guinness loaf (don't tell everyone, but you can preorder these and have a whole loaf to take away)

Clearly came at a bad time if day, mid afternoon on Good Friday. Called in a for a simple drink. Had to wait for all staff to serve themselves drinks and food so they could join the chefs in the garden for their break. Meanwhile having stood at the bar for over 10 minutes I finally got served by the only worker who then multi tasked and served a kitchen staff at the same time who just appeared! When finally I got the drink went out to the garden and couldn't find an empty table, not empty from people, empty from dirty glasses. Whilst 4 staff and 3 kitchen staff sit in the sun on a clear table. Strikes me that the management are too trusting of their staff. The staff priorities need reappraisal then maybe the customer might feel important here.

Went with friends for the "Pie night" special but was somewhat disappointed with the food. We have consistently considered The Falcon to be one of the best eateries in the area, however this was not our experience this time. Our table had both the venison and the beef & blue cheese pies. We found the veg too perfumed/fragrant, the chips were bruised/had bad bits, the pies were slightly too salty and lacking depth of flavour. It wasn't 'bad', just not to the standard we have come to expect from this establishment. The service was spot on. Unfortunately we were slightly in the thoroughfare of the bar, though we were early eaters and so it wasn't too much of an issue.
