We went for our daughter's 18th Birthday. This review is no reflection on the staff who were great but unfortunately the food was massive let down. I personally had a mixed grill which was like warm at best and very dry and bland. Fried eggs were hard and the gammon was like trying to eat a block of salt ( taste and texture wise) all the good was not very warm. The 3 people who had burgers said they were dry and tasteless and the fries were hard. All in all I think 1 of the meals out of 9 was acceptable. Considering the price I would expect a lot better. The only plus side to our visit was the staff were great. We didn't complain at the time because we didn't want to ruin our daughter's birthday celebrations but we emailed the restaurant afterwards and unfortunately they ignored it and did bit reply. On this experience I would not recommend coming here. To update, we finally got an email back offering us a voucher for another meal. We accepted but that was weeks ago and there is no sign of...

Sunday Lunch Food was ok when they eventually got the order right. Specifically wanted Veg gravy separate. 1st plate had gravy all over, and Waiter wasn't sure if it was Veg Gravy. Second plate had 90% fat on the Pork, so had to send it back. 3rd time better, but no Apple Sauce offered. Latte at end of meal, had no coffee in it!! We had dwindled from a party of about 12 down to 3. The others had gone for a drive and were returning for Desert and Coffees. At this point the Waitress wanted us to move to a smaller table, but there weren't any Customers waiting?? Really disappointed and won't...

Running late one evening, we rang ahead to ask if we could pre-order for arrival at "about 9pm". We could. When we arrived, it turned out they were out of a particular ingredient for one dish - so we were offered good alternatives and they were also happy to let me change the other order (having spotted a 'special' on the wall that wasn't on the online menu we'd used). Our revised order was more expensive but we weren't charged more. Our food (fish'n'chips, mushroom stroganoff) arrived promptly there after and was very good. The fish, in particular, was a very...

Quality local, really nice and welcoming bar staff. Locals are friendly, Drinks are good and have a vast choice. food menu is large and the portions are big and the starters and sides are good pub grub, the specials are good value. Both drinks and food are good value. Interior decor has a traditional old pub style, car park is big. Has an outside seating area, toilets are clean and usable. Is wheelchair accessible. Definitely recommend this place.

Quality pub out in the country along the A37. Really impressed. Not the prettiest pub but excellent value for money. Excellent breakfast at £8. Generous portion all grilled. Best pint of Amstel I've had since being in Amsterdam; excellent pour, good quality, and even in a frozen glass. Just brilliant. Wish I could have stayed for a few more.
