What a dreadful place. Four of us went last Saturday. The decor is basic with brick walls and uncomfortable seating. No soft furnishings anywhere. We asked to be moved to another table as ours consisted of two wooden settles and only 2 cushions. When we asked for more cushions we were told there were no more till November . Eventually staff did find us another table whilst we had a drink in the very noisy bar area, It quickly filled up with "gangs" of people and the noise just increased. Our table when we were shown to it was yet even bigger - basically all the tables were for large parties. There did not appear to be any tables for 2 or four persons. The noise was terrible and we had to shout, along with everyone else, to make ourselves heard. Even the staff could not be heard by the customers. The food when it came was mediocre. The lamb shanks and mash tasty but the "veg" was a ramekin dish containing old shredded lettuce, 3 shards of undercooked carrott (one with the end bit still dirty on it) and a few bits of sweetcorn badly cut off a corn on the cob. When I asked for a de-caff coffee the waitress snapped that the machine was broken! The staff all looked under 18 and were obviously left to run this place without supervision. We noticed that every table was enormous and it seemed to only cater for groups of 8 people +. All in all a disappointing night out and we would certainly not recommend this...

Myself and my partner have been here on several occasions with other couples, family and the children and have found it exceptional in everyway. We only went after reading the Tripadvisor reviews and hearing excellent feedback from lots of different people around the Isle Of Axholme and North Lincolnshire,we haven't been disappointed as yet and have recommended to everyone we know. The surrounding setting in the summer is stunning, sat on the river bank enjoying drinks with good people?! What else you ask for?? As for the decor inside it's been totally modernised and brought up to a outstanding standard for today's foodie pub it looks absolutely beautiful compared to the previous drab state. The manager Laura and all the bar staff and waiters go out of their way to make you feel welcome and meet all your requirements. The chef Ben has a absolutely huge following throughout the Isle and clientele follow him for his outstanding tantalising culinary skills. We are booked in here for Christmas Day and can't wait for the delicious food, service and ambience. Obviously people who are slating this place are stuck in the 80's,have a attitude themselves or have some kind of personal gripe with the young entrepreneur who is now well established in the Isle with several businesses and it's just sour grapes. Check out Trip Advisor or better still try it yourself! You will NOT be...

We were passing and decided to pop in for lunch, so glad we did. The service was fantastic sith attentive staff keeping us topped up with drinks and the menu was very good indeed. We decided to both go for the cow and chicken burger and was not disappointed. Firstly the size of the portions were huge! And the quality of produce definitely stood out. Both the beef and the chicken was delicious and the thick cut chips were perfectly cooked the side salad and fresh coleslaw was fantastic and to top it all off 2 huge onion rings. Stuffed is a understatement but we managed to split a sticky toffee pudding and custard. Needless to say we haven't eaten for the rest of the day 🤣. We will definitely be returning to try other items from the menu in the future for sure. Tje views over the river are beautiful on a clear sunny day and we sat outside enjoying the weather. The overall look of the inside was lovely too very clean and modern. The car park is limited but we had no issue...

Last night we had a meal at The Ferry Boat Bar and Kitchen, our ‘local’ pub-restaurant. There were eight of us, family and friends, so we got to sample quite a lot of the menu items! It was a lovely sunny evening and we sat outside on the riverbank for our pre dinner drinks. There is a lot of outdoor seating on the river foreshore, the flood bank and in the beer garden which is a bit more sheltered. Children’s play equipment is located on the riverbank too. Our starters were Brie wedges, prawn cocktail, duck spring rolls, salt and pepper squid, and mozzarella sticks. Main courses were fish and chips (of course!), Cajun chicken breast, lasagna, steak and ale pie and pan fried salmon. Desserts were chocolate fudge cake, chocolate brownie and ice cream, chocolate cheesecake, ice cream sundae and sticky toffee pudding. We paid around £40 pp which included wine, beer and soft drinks. We had a great night, thank you to the staff of the Ferry Boat who coped with our needs admirably!!

Lovely food , great balance in the menu, enough variety to choose from but not too many dishes to water down the quality. Service was great. Deserts were outstanding. The strawberry cheesecake in particular was the best cheesecake I had ever had. Perfectly set, very rich but with the sharpness of the sauce to balance it out. Highly recommended.
