Finally they have got it right, FBC A+............... Just got back from Tresco. Liked the RUIN but LOVED the FBC. For years it’s never quite got it right. Now they have the right mix of great food, service and atmosphere. The staff were friendly and on the mark. Endre was brilliant. Engaging and excellent front of house. Victoria was so nice and nothing was too much trouble. The food was superb. It may have had a stuffy image before, but now it's a great vibrant restaurant. Just what the Island needed. Looked after all our needs. The chef went the extra mile with a simple cucumber dish for my 7 year old son Archie. Made his day. All the food was exceptional. Only had coffee and cake. New French waitress served hot frothy milk with tea. I mentioned at check out, her senior (French) swore blind several times that loads of customers had hot milk with tea. What!! I was seething, should have asked for manager....ho hum. Btw the coffees and tea were only luke warm, despite the hot milk. Ruin Cafe...

During our stay in late May we made use of this place several times. One of the few eateries on the island, get there early if you want a seat. Ideal place whilst waiting to get into your accommodation. Not open evenings but good selection of light meals and snacks. Very covid safe, well spaced outdoor seating limited indoors if...
