Joanne and Dan are excellent staff and provide a great service. However I feel they are being let down by the wider management team.

We had to send one of our meals back and it was replaced with fish and chips at no cost which was an excellent gesture. However the batter had the taste of overused cooking fat and this was also reflected in the chips. Why mushy peas have to be served in a thimble rather than a larger or normal size portion I really have no idea.

The windows outside were dirty and covered in cobwebs and clearly had not been cleaned for sometime so the wonderful view was slightly impaired which was a shame.

The planter baskets outside the windows had flowers which were almost dead and gave the air of a place not being looked after.

In light of the outstanding location that this company has been given, one would hope that they could make better use of this opportunity and maintain things to a higher standard. As it stands this place looks a little tired and not very well cared for.

Finally, there is no system to leave a tip for the staff on a credit or debit card. This is a complete oversight by the management company and needs to be resolved straightaway. There are plenty of systems which can operate separately and which allow customers to give staff a tip using their cards.

Come on move...

I ordered a Kiev pizza and got garlic bread with 5 minute pieces of chicken and a not even a full slice of a red onion. No mushrooms or cheese and they used garlic butter. They need lessons on how to make a pizza never mind a garlic Kiev.l They cannot even make a margarita pizza either. I’ve seen more topping and cheese on One slice of an ASDA bought 10” thin slice pizza. It wasn’t cooked properly either. We ordered chunky chip which were only normal chips and skin on fries which were the scraps. Both chips were cold as well. Worst pizza experience I’ve ever had in my life. The last time we were here, I nearly sent the burger back as it was awful. And my wife’s fish pie only had one piece of fish in it. Pea pie would have been the best description of this as it was covered in smash potatoes as well. Not real potatoes. If I was the owner I would sack the worst chef of all time. I will not be surprised if I wake up with food poisoning in the morning. We went for coffee and cake this morning and we offered only one type of cake and that was the left over from yesterday according to the staff, which I had to decline. This so called restaurant is an absolute embarrassment to the Kielder waterside park. It lets everything else down. DO NOT EAT HERE...

What is this place trying to be??? Popped in for a drink and immediately wanted to leave. Staff member said most tables booked but would try find a seat. Sat us on a table. We tried to order drinks at the bar but was told to sit down as someone would come take our order. We waited awhile, keep in mind we just popped in for a quick drink. It felt like you were chained to your table.

While we waited we saw many come in just wanting a nice drink, after all it is a bar, but staff acted just as awkward and off putting saying to go sit outside. Many didn't want to as it was chilly but had to if they wanted just a drink.

The staff member serving us was miserable and another who appeared to maybe be a manager just seemed frustrated, straight faced and busy even though hardly any were in!

what are you trying to be? It is so off putting unless you have booked a table and want food. Why on earth can't you just pop in for a nice drink and feel welcomed and not be forced outside, I don't know.

I would seriously rather buy a drink from the gift shop and sit in my car. We left straight away.
