The Fortune — Restaurant in England

I ordered a delivery for my son's birthday. Our usual place is closed for a couple of weeks so we tried the Fortune Inn . I spent over £80 and still had to pay a delivery charge. The order was missing the birthday boys rice, I called and was told they were too busy to come out again and they would refund me. I explained the situation but they said sorry they could only refund. I gave my son my rice. Then they called me and said they actually could bring the rice out. Then they called again to ask which rice. They delivered the missing rice. The food was not good all the rice orders were bland .the satay chicken which I have ordered from many different restaurants so I can compare, were just in nutty peanut butter like out the jar and some was pink. The duck spring roll had just enough duck to earn its title and the prawns were crunchy. All in all very disappointing. Will not order...

I don’t say this lightly: The Fortune served one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The beef was absolutely outstanding — tender, rich, and full of flavour. Every bite felt like something special, with the textures and seasoning working together beautifully.

The Hong Kong-style sweet and sour chicken was another standout, perfectly balanced and paired with rice that was spot on. You can really tell there’s care and skill behind every dish.

Service was just as impressive — the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the timing between courses was ideal. It gave the meal a relaxed, thoughtful pace that made the whole evening even more enjoyable.

I went there this evening it was very cold even though the heat was on I asked " is it cold here or is it me? The rads were at this point warm then suddenly they came on hot but as covered rads it made no difference, but having a heart problem at the moment I had problems when I got home and had to call 111 as I got cold and sat with a long thick scarf round me all evening. Also after we paid I noticed the waitress and trainee were putting clean cutlery into the serviettes for the next customers and we're touching the end of the spoons etc with their fingers No Gloves on at all not good .Covid comes to mind. Wether I will return I don't know quite disappointed....
