We went for our tea tonight @5.30pm
ordered drinks plus two hot drinks which was served very quick to our table..
The starters
we had was the beer battered mushrooms with garlic mayo for a starter there was plenty for two to share they were lovely, and the panko butterflied prawns were also a generous amount for a starter was nice .
For our Main Meals
We had the chicken tikka masala it was cold sent it back, it wasnt as nice as last time had this there wasn't any red chilli's on top and wasnt as creamy most probably because had to get heated up ..
Other member of guest had the scampi and chips which was nice, and the gammon steak with eggs n chips was lovely not salty at all, partner had the lamb shepherd's pie with roasted carrots and cabbage/ peas, on the side the lamb shepherd's pie served in a pie dish with the melted cheese on top and the mash was so soft and lamb just so tender was the best shepherd's pie ever tasted 😋🫢 it was proper home comfort food,
For Desert had the apple/ blackcurrant crumble with custard it was nice and hot, but it was too sweet to eat The staff that served us were so lovely and very well mannered and polite asked if had any allergies or dietary requirements and kept checking if everything was okay and a great atmosphere with proper open fires,
Would highly recommend this...
Read moreDined here for lunch around a month ago with my girlfriend, we ordered from the three course set menu, which in fairness was reasonably priced. Never have I experienced such painfully slow and dreadful service, it took almost 90 minutes for our main courses to arrive and this was only after asking at the bar. The food itself was very average, with both the fish and chips I ordered myself being frozen and cheap tasting, I also asked for no peas at the bar, this was acknowledged but still turned up with the plate covered in peas. After partially finishing our mains, we where left with the plates on the table for a further 25 minutes waiting for them to be cleared and desert to arrive. It never did. At this stage we simply had had enough and walked out.
We wouldn’t have particularly minded if the pub was busy but we arrived just after 12pm on a Thursday and only six other tables where occupied the time we where there.
We eat here for lunch around a year ago and the food was much better but service was still very slow, but given that the meal itself was nice we thought we would give it a second chance. After this experience I certainly wouldn’t give it a third chance and will never return or recommend it to...
Read moreI wouldn’t eat here again if you paid me. When my partner and two friends arrived we were told to take a seat and they would come and show us to our table. After 15 minutes and no sign of us being moved we moved our ourselves to a table and ordered our food by scanning the QR code on the table. Our friend’s meals came out with no sign of mine or my partners meals. Our friends had completely finished their meals and we still hadn’t had ours so I asked a staff member to check where our meals were. Then my partners starter came out when we asked for it to come with the mains. He had finished his starter and still no sign of our main meals. I told the staff member that the starter was to come with the main and I was told if you order online it doesn’t show up correct on their screen… don’t allow people to order online then! Then our friends ordered two sides and within 5 minutes their order was brought to the table. After 50 minutes mine and my partners meal was brought out. The portion sizes were small and the appearance of the food was average. The burgers look anemic and you’re given a small handful of chips (Hence why our friends ordered two sides). They also automatically add a tip on to the bill…...
