The Fox's Sunday roast used to be legendary in this area. Called and booked 30 minutes before we arrived - this should have been the clue that it had gone downhill. Arrived to a very quiet pub with no atmosphere and presented with menus splattered with 'something' that had not been wiped down. You couldn't get a traditional Sunday lunch any more, but a giant Yorkshire pudding filled with 'slow cooked meat' with a side of veggies, and stuffing balls/roasties.

It was very disappointing. Quantity over quality. The meat was cheap, fatty and basically cooked in a slow cooker, not roasted. It looked like dog food. The Yorkshire pudding, roasties and stuffing were not hand made and I would venture started as frozen, 15 minutes before hand. The veggies and gravy were the only good thing about the meal. Most certainly wouldn't recommend too anyone searching for a Sunday...

Decide to go here just on the off to cheer the wife up, she'd heard good reports and I can say we weren't disappointed.

The food was good and reasonably priced, it was served in good time and the portions were of a generous size. The place was busy for what I would call a non descript Thursday evening but they seemed to handle it all very well.

There is a large car park, with a grass area adjacent to it if wanting to supervise kids outside. There is a lot of outdoor seating for the 3 weeks of summer, with some of it sheltered. I don't think there would be any access issues as I can't remember excessive steps while entering.

Would definitely return, well...

Used to go quite regularly for Sunday Roast, they were unbeatable. Sadly, they now have a new menu, and to be honest, I wouldn't have even given my 'roast beef' dinner to a dog. Everything on the plate was frozen, and the beef was just like a ball of string on the plate, tasteless to. I tried a bit of each veg but on the roast potatoes, I spit it into my napkin, and got rid of the whole lot. It was diabolical, even a lady I didn't know, stopped on the way out and said their meal was terrible, the Yorkshire Pudding was like a Frisbee!!!! I feel so sorry for the staff having to bring this sort of rubbish out to the tables. Four people here that won't be...

Booked a table myself and sister. The menu's were quite extensive. We picked the seniors two cource for £10. This was great value. I picked shepherd's pie my sister Sunday lunch. Both portions were good size. Sunday lunch came with extra veg. You could swop pudding for coffee, which I did. Great value and service Would definitely go again. If you're out this way definitely worth calling in. We went from york Been for a second time June 29. Same great value. Had Sunday dinner, sister had scampi both had latte extra hot .

Started off with being ignored at the bar, and intentionally ignoring. Put on a table with mucky plates and food all over the table. Then the meals.... shocking. Fish batter was like snot, mushy peas I could of build a house with the gear, and for the chips... well here's a picture. Mrs got new York chicken, looks and tasted microwaved. Never going back again. £45 wasted. Not happy 👎

We had a brilliant lunch here on Saturday. We were made very welcome and had great service from Amy and Jack. We will definitely be back!!! (I do have one regret - dogs are not allowed inside. We were there on a sunny day but we wouldn’t like to eat outside on a poor day - and we know other brilliant country pubs that are dog friendly - it just seems better that way?)
